We had some really great meals this trip. It was myself, a friend/coworker (her first time to WDW) and my DGD8. Here's how it went. We rating them from 1-5.

6/20- We arrived at the Poly around 5pm and had a dinner PS for Ohana's a 7:00. A first for us. I asked for a table near all the action and we grabbed a Lapu Lapu from the bar. I had the bartender fix DGD a shirley temple in a pineapple too. Very tasty drinks! No sooner than we'd gotten our drinks our vibrators went off an we were seated right by the path where they do the coconut races.;) Our meal was excellent and DGD8 found plenty to eat without ordering something special. She filled up on those wings mostly! Our service was great as our waitress just kept the food coming. We were way too full when we left. We give this one a 4!

6/21-The next morning we found ourselves back at Ohana for the character breakfast. The only one of our trip and another first for us. The food was typical breakfast fare, okay but I like fresh eggs, bacon & etc instead of precooked. The character interaction was fantastic though and DGD8 was having too much fun to eat. Chip pretended to get mad at DGD b/c she didn't have a Chip pin on her lanyard. He drew evil eyebrows on the Mickey pictures on her paper drink cup. Good time. We'll give it a 3!

For lunch we grabbed burgers at Pecos Bill's in MK. Another first, we like the Mexican place in Adventureland that was still closed. Good burgers though! This one earns a 4!

I was looking forward to trying Le Cellier for dinner and it was awsome. Lynn & I both had the mushroom filet & split a lobster tail with Maple Cream Brulee for desert. I tried the yummy chedder soup & DGD had chicken fingers & chocolate moose! Our server was excellent as was the meal. An easy 5 for this one!

6/22- We checked out of the Poly and checked in at BWV. We grabbed some goodies at Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast before heading to MGM. We give the yummy's a 3 as we like them warm better.

We had a lunch PS at Hollywood Brown Derby for 1:15 but it started pouring the rain so we checked in around noonish to see if we could get on on. No problem. We had the Lobster Bisque & the grouper with asparagus. DGD had chicken fingers again. Excellent! This won an easy 5 from us.

For dinner we had a PS at Cape May Cafe. I have to say, after that excellent lunch, Cape May didn't quite hold it's own. We loved the brocolli slaw & cornbread but found the rest kind of so so. The clams/mussells were mostly empty shells. Again, this may be because of the exceptional lunch or because my expectations were too high, so I'll be willing to give it another try. This one gets a 2 this time.

6/23- Our plans were to grab breakfast at Tusker House AK early entry, but the bus didn't show until 7:55 and was too full to carry us all so we went to Epcot instead. We stopped at Boardwalk Bakery for rolls. Again a 3.

Lunch found us at the Beirgarten in Germany for a fantastic lunch buffet. We had no wait for this non PS meal. DGD8 said these chicken fingers were the best of the trip!LOL There was no entertainment while we were there. We give it a 4!

This dinner at Restaurant Marrakesh was our biggest disappointment of the trip. First time here as well. And I'm sure it's just our taste, but we didn't enjoy this food at all. Our server wasn't very good either. DGD had fun dancing with the belly dancer though and I'm glad we tried it. We left hungry here so I'll give it a 1.

6/24- We made it to AK today dispite yet another long wait for the bus. After the safari we enjoyed hot cinnomon rolls from Tusker House. A definate 4!

For a late lunch we order burgers from room service. They were huge & delish on wonderful rolls! As an aside, some guy knocked on our door to pickup our dishes and we'd yet to get our food. Then, he never came back to get the dishes. Yes, that was our tray in the hallway!LOL Another 4!

We cancelled our dinner PS for 1900 Park Fare as we were still full from lunch. We ended up eating at Pecos Bill's again as we snagged a spot for Spectromagic & then did Enight.

6/25 - We slept in a bit from Enight, but had preordered a big breakfast from room service the night before. It was great waking up to a big hot breakfast after a big night! We ordered the breakfast that "feed up to four" but it could've feed 10 people. We saved waffels, pancakes & meats to have them the next day, but we didn't eat it. Great roomservice breakfast, 4!

We had a fantastic lunch at San Angel Inn. I tried Pollo A Las Rajas that someone here on the boards raved about and it was awsome. Lynn had the sample plate and loved it as well. Our waiter was a bit friskey and don't ask me how it happened but he kissed me and Lynn got a picture of it. Then he kissed Lynn while I was in the bathroom. Neither one of us asked to be kissed, but it wasn't an open mouth kiss either, he just grabbed us and did it. That's one picture that'll get destroyed as soon as it's developed! That was one strange lunch, let me tell ya. We left there not knowing whether to complain or not! We didn't but we've laughed a lot about it though. Lunch 4...service, well, strange.

Another first for us was dinner at Flying Fish. We had a PS here before we went to see Cirque. Lynn & I split the crab cakes, I had the grouper and Lynn had the potatoe wrapped fish. Both were excellent. I had the Banana Napoleon for desert and it was excellent too. Our server was Mikael and he was a hoot. An easy 5.

6/26 - Our last day. We had a breakfast PS scheduled for Cape May Cafe but cancelled. We had a PS for lunch and one for dinner and we were getting tired of eating!LOL We went back to AK and ended up at Tusker House again for another hot cinomon roll.

We had a shopping and a lunch PS at Cinderella's Royal Table to do so it was off to MK around noon. Lynn & I both had the Major Domo's Favorite Pie and it was good. DGD had guess, yep, Chicken fingers! Pretty good lunch, 3!

For dinner we went to the California Grill for a 7:15PS...another first. We scored a window table and had another excellent meal here. We had the cheese/garlic flatbread, I had asparagus & Lynn had a salad. Lynn & I both got the Filet w/tamarind sauce which I was surprise to see on the menu b/c I thought I had read where it wasn't on anymore. DGD had pizza that looked really good too. For desert we all shared a warm tart with icecream. Our server was Jenny and she was very efficient and warm. After dinner we went out on the deck and watched the fireworks. We could've stayed at the table and saw them but after a meal like that we needed to get up and move around a bit. Only giving this experience a 5 because I said I wouldn't go higher. A great end to our trip!

Overall a fantastic "meal trip." Any questions just ask!

Glad to hear you and DGD had a great time this trip ;) .Wow, you sure ate a lot.I am suddenly hungry!! :p

WOW! Great eating! You hit several of the places we went to, and places I plan on going to next time. I'm really looking forward to our PS at Cal. Grill. Bummer that Cape May Cafe wasn't too great- that was one of my favorites last time. I didn't try the shellfish though- but I thought the salmon and ribs were really good.

Welcome back! I'm glad you liked the Pollo A Las Rajas! (I'm at least one of the people that raved about it recently!) Pretty weird about the kissing. I have had servers want to kiss my kids before (older women being "grandmotherly")which I think is a little odd... but a guy..hmmm.

It is funny how you can get almost "tired" of eating, isn't it?

Sounds like overall you had great dining experiences. The grouper with asparagus from Brown Derby sounds delicious to me; is it a regular menu item or a daily special?
Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy Restaurant Marrakesh, it's one of our favorites. I think it happens to be flavors that we enjoy. :D
Thanks for the great reviews.

Great report! Thanks for sharing - good to know my ds isn't the only one who has chicken fingers at almost every meal at WDW!!!

Thanks for sharing - Wonderful, detailed reviews!!!!

Yes, I believe it was your report on that dish that sent me rushing to the phone to make that lunch PS. It was strange about the kissing. I mentioned to him that he was the same server we had on our October '02 trip and from that point on you'd of thought we were best friends!..or something.

Jenifer,
Thanks! I was hoping you would do restaurant reviews. My ds is also one who will sample all the chicken fingers at WDW.:D

Just curious where you stayed? The breakfast for four sounds great. Thanks for the reviews.

Great reviews, jennymouse! Thanks for sharing!

I assume it was Polynesian room service you were raving about? You make it sound so tempting!

I also loved the broccoli slaw at Cape May. I sort of agree with your comment about the food but would probably have given it a 3 on your scale. I guess I just don't expect as much from a buffet (though for $24 I really ought to!). Nevertheless we enjoyed it and will probably do it again this year.

Our whole family loves Hollywood Brown Derby too!
I hated that we missed it this last trip, but thankfully there's always next time right!

What all did you try from the Boardwalk Bakery? This has always been one place I've wanted to try, but never seem to get there.
Even though you gave it a 3, would you consider it worth the time to check it out?

LOL...about the chicken fingers! Isn't it funny how kids that eat chicken fingers alot seem to prefer one over the other, or have a favorite place to eat them. That's how my kids are too.I always thought all chicken finger's were basically the same!

You made me so hungry for lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table.
Major Domo's Favorite Pie is my favorite, and their warm crusty rolls and butter. Did you try any of their desserts?
Last time we were there they had a wonderful black cherry sundee topped with chocolate Mickey ears.

The breakfast for four room service was at BWV. Seriously, it could've easily fed 10. There was a large platter of ham, another large platter of bacon & sausage, a large platter of scrambled eggs, a large platter of Mickey waffles, a large platter of pancakes, and a large platter of potatoes. Oh, and fruit, coffee & juice too! We had ziplock bags and saved lots of it intending to eat it the next day, but we never did. I felt bad wasting all that food but we were all stuffed.

Do they really call them that??

LOLOLOL

No wonder that waiter was kissing you two :)

>>^..^<<

Great reviews! Our last trip, my nephew ate mac & cheese at almost every meal and my niece chicken fingers.

I know just what you mean! I got home yesterday & I'm scared to step on the scales!
