Help- I need a design

Last October my DH, DS, Mom and Dad went to Disney. It was great and my mom bought a yellow shirt in the outside gift shop from Mickey's Philharmagic. It looked like this: http://www.laughingplacestore.com/im...ucts/3869L.jpg

She loved that shirt and even bought one for all of her grandkids so they could all match.

Well long story short, in December she lost her Mother and then 2 days after the funeral my mom had a heart attack, bypass surgery and then 2 strokes. She was in and out of several rehab hospitals untill about a month ago and at one of them they RUINED her shirt- I mean it came back from the laundry all stained with green and blue spots. She was so upset. They were so rude about it and I insisted they pay for it and several other things they ruined. Several pairs of socks, underwear and another shirt- they gave me $30 bucks for it all!!! That's it. I was so mad, but what was I going to do???

I have called Disney Park Merchandising and becasue the shirt was on clearance at the time my mom bought it, it is now no longer available. I also found it at the link I attached above, but it is also no longer available. I also have searched ebay and turn up nothing.

I really want to replace this for my Mom. I had posted this earlier to try and find someone going who could look for it for me. Several wonderful DISers did look at Disney and several outlets but found nothing. One of them suggested I try this board to see if someone could design something similar for me. If you think you can, please let me know what I would need to do. I would be happy to pay someone for their services.

That's awful. I hope that you get the shirt replaced. I wish I could help but I have no design talent whatsoever. Good luck and I hope your mom is doing better.

It may be tough to find an exact replica of that design. There are so many graphics that I am not sure any of us could do it.

I could play around with this rough design if you would like..

That would be great. That link isn't working anymore with the exact shirt on it, but it had several characters on it floating around. Please forgive my ignorance, but once you do the design then how do I print it to a shirt or would you be able to do that for me too. I would be glad to pay you, I just want her to have something similar- maybe for Mother's Day. Thanks so much for your time and so do you!!!! Thanks

Once you have the design that you want, you'll need transfer paper (either for light or dark shirts). You can print them from your printer onto the transfer paper and then iron them on a shirt. If you're using a white shirt, light transfer paper should be okay (although the design may not hold upf as long as that on a dark transfer). If you use any other color shirt, the white part of the design will come out the same color as the shirt (it's transparent when printed on the light transfer paper). If you use the dark transfer paper, the colors will print like you see them on the screen. You'll may want to trim off the excess white around the design before you iron it on. You can get plain shirts at Michaels or AC Moores, etc. Wash your shirt before you iron on the transfer (no fabric softener). There are lots of threads about how to do the transfer. Just look around.
