I am staying about 2 miles outside disney at the ramada inn maingate resort and i was wondering what is the best and cheapest way for me and my three friends to get around. we will be going to disney for 4 days and universal for 1 we also plan on going to pleasure island alot at night. Any suggestions?

Do they have a shuttle for you?? Check with the concierege and see if they do, if not, rent a car if it's an option, if not, hire a taxi cab, and be sure to get a quote, they range all over the board, so see what you can do. For PI, you can usually find taxi cabs in abundance at 2am, just hop in one and they'll take you back to your hotel. :rockband:

there is a shuttle but i've been hearing that in january the shuttles to hotels outside the park only run twice a day once to bring you to disney and once to bring you back. anyone know if this is true? and how much would cabs cost me compared to renting a car? i am going for 5 days.

Last Jan we stayed off disney property for the first time ever. I had been told by the hotel, Comfort Inn LBV, that there were shuttles running to Disney. Unfortunately, I didn't think to ask how often they run, was expecting disney shuttle type service. We ended up taking a taxi most of the time. Usually the shuttles were at inconvienent times, or would be full by the time they came to our hotel, as they also picked up from other off site hotels. The morning ones weren't too bad, but the last shuttles at park closing were A NIGHTMARE! Standing room only, and often not enough room for those that were there, in which case they would call another bus, typically another hour wait. We're talking hundreds of people camped out in the parking lot waiting for the next bus. At the end of a long tiring day, the last thing I wanted to have to deal with was getting back to the hotel. My suggestion would be to rent a car. At the end of the week we ended up spending more on taxi's than we would have if we just would have rented a car. Plus the shuttles at our hotel did not go to any of the water parks, Pleasure Island, etc. Check out mousesavers.com for rate codes and shop around at different rental companies. Rates are pretty good in Jan.
