We just returned from a lovely Christmas stay at the Yacht Club (12/23-12-27). Now that we're back, and everyone is saying we should go away for Christmas every year, I'm trying to plan for next year. We have never cruised before and would love to do a four day sea/three day land package next December. If the cruise leaves 12/28 do you go to WDW before or after? (Or if it leaves the 21st as well) If you book Cat 3, MUST you stay at GF or can you stay at YC or Contemporary or Poly ect? Does this affect your price? What is the difference (stateroom wise) between cats 3,4,and 5? We will be traveling with a 17yr old son and 13 yr old daughter. Is gettting two rooms in a lesser cat the better option? Any and all help will be appreciated (alternative suggestions are welcome as well) Thanks!

try booking it seprately , go to the disney cruise lines web site and book just the cruise and then try booking the room where u would like to stay ,, some times the package deal is more expensive than booking it separately
also try dreams unlimited and u will get a rebate and shipboard credit. making cruise less just click the link at the top of the page and they will do the rest...........

We booked the 4 day followed by a 4 day DVC stay at VWL. It worked out better points wise to book them apart.

A Category 3 is a suite with a seperate bedroom. However, if your DD and DS don't care to share a double bed (I certainly wouldn't have wanted to when I was 17) then you need to make sure you book 8032, 8034, 8532, or 8534. These are the only Category 3's where the Murphy bed is in the living room. In all other Category 3's, the Murphy bed is in the bedroom, negating the privacy that you'd expect to get with a suite. The Category 3's have two bathrooms. One of them has a very large bathtub.

A Category 4 is designed for 5 people. It's exactly like a Category 5 except there's just enough additional room to pull down a Murphy bed for the 5th person. If you're considering a Category 4, you may as well save money and go with a Category 5 or 6.

A Category 5 would be just fine for your family (unless you wanted to splurge and book one of the four Category 3's I mentioned above). Your DS and DD would have seperate beds... a convertible single berth sofa and a pull-down berth above the sofa.

A Category 6 is exactly the same as a Category 5 except that they're on Decks 5 and and 6 rather than Deck 7. This is the best value for staterooms with full verandahs. And it would comfortably accommodate your family.
