HELP! I have a cold?

I spend the time leading up to our trips terrified that someone in the group will get sick--how do others deal with this? Hope everyone is well for your voyage.

I've never tried Zicam or Airborne before, so I did a google search for them. I found this for Zicam: http://www.adrugrecall.com/zicam/zicam.html Have any of you who have tried it had this problem?

I'm sorry I have to STRONGLY DISAGREE with PPFQP I think Airborne taste HORRIBLE!!! I took it once and will probably never take it again because it tastes so bad. Just my point of view though.
I am getting over a cold and I will take any other OTC meds.

Gosh, sorry to hear that. How much water did you mix it with? Both DH and I thought it was very mildly orange-flavored and not offensive at all. I don't think my kids would balk at taking it either. It doesn't look pretty, that's for sure -- it gets kind of foamy on top of the water, like alka seltzer.

It isn't the grestest taste, but it isn't that bad. Someone compared it to TANG, and I would agree with that. My DD (11) takes it, but her twin sister hates the taste and won't drink it. I guess we all have different tasts. I do believe I saw a Lemon Lime flavored one at Walgreens (not at Walmart), but we didn't try it, the original taste is fine with us.

Update: So far I think I'm unfortunately past the zicam help. The cold has affected my asthma so now I sound way worse than I feel. They will probably quarrantine me for TB. (when I cough). But have been to my Doctor, and taking all big drugs (available to mankind). Told him I need a QUICK cure! WDW & Disney cruise at stake! Also rest, OJ, and vitamins! Thanks for all the help and encouragment. Now if only I even felt like thinking about packing.

My DD has asthma, and when she gets really bad with her coughing (and starts needing breathing treatments), the doctor gives her "Orapred". It is by perscription, but within 3 days the cough is gone for the most part.

Have you gone to the doctor yet?

My Asthma & Allergy MD yesterday: Started prednisone (adult orapred) along with zithromax (antibiotic) and doing 3 different inhalers. I don't like to take the oral steriods (prednisone) [side effects] but due to circumstances need to So hopefully will clear up this week. Keeping my fingers crossed! Mky

Another great product that will either kill a cold on the first day, or lessen it's length is Entsol. My ENT doc prescribed it. It's over the counter but you will have to ask the pharmacist for it. They keep it behind with the rest of the really good stuff! You can use it up to 5 X per day and you will feel it combatting all those germs in your nasal passages and throat. I have actully chewed them..it is doable-but with water is better.
