Help!! I did something stupid.

Here in NJ I have purchased bottles for about $20. But, my liquore store only had two bottles last time I went (of course I bought them both). He said he doesn't really stock it so much because it doesn't sell (what!!! oh welll, more for me!!! yum). :drinking1

I found it listed this way at my fav. local wine shop's website:
Vigne Regale (Formerly Vini Banfi) Brachetto d'Acqui Vigneto della Rosa

It's on my list to try... yum!

Is Rosa Regale considered an ice wine? We had our first taste of ice wine at Chateau de Charmes in Canada this summer - very yummy!

Nope, the Rosa Regale is a sparkling wine - like a rich pink champagne I would say. It is yummy in it's own right. Ice Wine is a whole different thing - a sweet and heavy dessert wine - also very yummy! They sell a few kinds of Ice Wine at the Trusty NH Liquor Store, too.

If anyone gets near Nashua, the store at Exit 6 has a huge wine selection. I have had the good fortune of finding several things that I was introduced to at the F&W Festival wine seminars. I can't wait to do some real research in a few weeks!!

Those NH State Liquor stores always crack me up! Right off the interstate, big parking lots (we're towing a camper) - just like a rest stop.

:cool1: I can buy booze and fireworks in one stop!

Thanks for the info dznymom1 -

I'll definitely be searching for some Rosa Regale here in NJ. If I can't find it, then I have a new excuse to head to Disney! (Like I need an excuse! ;))

After reading this thread, I noticed when I was shopping at Costco today (Portland, OR) store that they had Rosa Regale for $15.99. I purchased a bottle and plan to have it tomorrow. Hope it's as yummy as everyone says as I'm not a big wine drinker.

Opened the bottle last night...it was delicious!!! I don't drink wine very often but enjoy sparkling wine during the holidays. Good bye Asti Spumante, hello Rosa Regale!!! Thanks so much for starting this thread as I never would have tried it otherwise. :goodvibes

Yes, that's the Banfi Rosa Regale. They carry it in the NH State Liquor stores in a half size bottle covered in chocolate - Talk about a delicious treat! I also purchased a regular bottle at Publix in Hilton Head, so I know it's around.

Note to self: As wonderful, kind and helpful as Diznymom1 is, stop speaking to her since, because of the information she posted here not only will I be able to purchase Rosa Regale without spending hundreds of dollars on trips to Walt Disney World, but also because now I may as well not quit smoking :teeth: Given that I'll be up in New Hampshire every couple of weeks buying wine anyway, and Market Basket is RIGHT next door to the State Liquor Store...

Edited to add: DIBS on the Salem store!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going this weekend, I will do my best to remember and get the information to you

Hey, I didn't see all you guys at the Nashua Store, but stock is down :rotfl:

calypso, you're one of us now. Whatever you do, DON'T TRY THE ICE WINE!!

Driving from ME to CT for work on Monday...since I am driving right by it, I will need to hit the NH liquor store. I hope you guys left me a bottle or two! ;)

Trader Joe's sells a Brachetto Sparkling Wine (same grape) that tastes VERY close for $5.99.

The Banfi is smoother and comes in a pretty bottle, but the Trader Joe's version is great if you want to have it more often.

This thread is funny! I must be the only one who thinks it tastes like carbonated cherry NYQuil. Admittedly, I only really like very dry wines and dry champagnes. I actually threw mine away, I couldn't drink another drop.

To each his own, enjoy the Rose Regale!

I think that will be next on my list!

I'll have to check out the Trader Joe's version as well!!!

I am off to our local Cosco to see if it has any. Thanx I dont usually drink so I have never been in the liquor part of Cosco. Hope they have it.

I am glad I didnt purchase at WDW as they wanted $40 per bottle when I asked. I would much rather spend $20 then I can have 2. :rotfl:

If you like sweet oriented drinks try a Malibu (rum) & pinapple juice with a splash of Midori (Midori optional). Just watch out as it goes down really smooth. and you will be :rotfl2: rolling on the floor drunk
