OK I was at the wine and food festival on Sunday 10/2. I saw this woman with a long fluted glass of champagne. I proceeded to purchase a glass in Italy (out front at the booth) I loved it, but didnt want to lug a bottle of wine back on the plane ( Ya like it would have made it back to MA).

So I wrote the name and such down on a piece of paper. You guessed it I washed the paper :guilty: . Anyone going or went that has the name an winery that makes this champagne. It was a rose color, tasted like rasberries with a hint of chocolate. I reeeaaaalllyyy want to purchase some. I have a local wine store that told me they can order for me if I can get the info.

HELP!!! PLEASE!!! This is the first champagne I have ever tasted that I liked. Not a big drinker and would like to have some on NYE this year.

Thanx for any and all advise/info. :grouphug:

Me too! and I don't even really drink! But that does sound yummy!

It sounds like you are talking about Rosa Regale. I think I got spelling wrong though. It is yummy.

Rosa Regal that sounds right. I will have to try the wine store tomorrow. Now I will have to try to remember the winery. LOL

It was very yummy. Not to sweet and not to dry. I have 10 bottles of Dom P that taste YUCKY. I got them from a friend at my Wedding. I am surprised she hasnt noticed she is the only one drinking it when she comes for NYE family get together. :rotfl:

OPPS forgot my manners Thank you. Thank you Thank you.

Rosa Regale is a Villa Banfi sparkling wine. Glad you enjoyed it!

Hello All
I went to the F&W last year and will be going again this year and I bought wine down there and had Disney ship it by UPS up to my house and the bottles came here undamaged. I also carried a bottle on the plain with me and nothing happened to it either. Just some suggestions for people so that they dont have to not buy the wine down there because they have to travel. Well thats my two cents

Banfi Rosa Regale is available even after the F&W festival. I had a glass of
it at the festival last November, then again in December at the wine store
in the Italy pavilion.

Yes- its Banfi Rosa Regale- I purchase a bottle in Italy every time I go to Disney World- they sell it all year long. Most wine and liquor stores here in Plam Beach County Florida do not carry it.

A year and a half ago, hubby and I flew home from Jamaica with two bottles of rum. I wrapped them in our beach towels and put them in our carry-ons and they arrived safe and sound. It can be done if you pack them right. I wouldn't suggest putting them in checked baggage though.

Can I come to your NYE celebration? I don't live that far and I'd love to try that champagne. ;)

I have been able to find Banfi's Rosa Regale at a local ABC store. It's my fave and I served it at my daughter's wedding.

Can anyone tell me the price range of the Rosa Regale? If it is sold by the glass in Italy year round....I was so NOT planning on going to Epcot this next trip....will have to change my mind. (yes I am weird....I have tried 4 times...I just don't like epcot!)

I dont remember exactly but Italy has it for over $20 a bottle- think it was about $25

Yes, that's the Banfi Rosa Regale. They carry it in the NH State Liquor stores in a half size bottle covered in chocolate - Talk about a delicious treat! I also purchased a regular bottle at Publix in Hilton Head, so I know it's around.

Don't you love finding new favorites at the Food & Wine Festival? Too bad I also got hooked on icewein - boy is that an expensive habit!

That is GREAT news. I live fairly close to the NH State Liquor Store. I will be giving the Banfi Rosa Regale a try in the near future. I agree...the ice wine is pricey, but good.

oooo ... I think I'm going to the NH Liquor store tomorrow!!

Thanks for making this mistake, OP, and alerting us to the joy of this wine!

:teeth:

I know the Rosa Regale is a specialty item, so I just checked the NH Liquor Store website. Inventory looks limited, and it shows the following stores have it. The Nashua store with 13 bottles is the one at exit 6. Better make that 12  I think I'll drop by there myself this morning!

Stores On Hand Bottles
67 - Hooksett 3
50 - Nashua 13
69 - Nashua 1
38 - Portsmouth 13
34 - Salem 8

Total Bottles 38

wow, you sure are a good researcher! :rotfl: OK everyone, stay away from the Hooksett store, those 3 bottles are mine!! (how much does this stuff cost, anyway??)
