I know I'm obsessed with this store. My DD is only 6 months old and she already has a ton of clothes from this store. Believe me, we are not rich and I only work 1 day a week. I went there today to take a bunch of stuff back and ended up buying her more. My DH and is going to kill me. I'm going to end up divorced but with a well dressed child. Help me!

As the mom of a 10year old DD, I'd say you'd better get yourself under control!

Of course, you may be joking about this and making a fun post.:teeth: But, I believe my answer is still the same!!:p

Ya, join the club. I just gave up and got a job there for the 40% discount. ;) Gotta love the 40% discount! ;)

I just love the new Splash line (the fishies). Super cute! I used the kissing fish purse as Mo's Easter Basket.

I always buy my daughter clothes even though she doesn't need it. Gymboree does have alot of cute clothing, especially for those special occassions.

It is sooo fun to dress those little ones - I know I went way overboard with my oldest two kiddos.

Do try and tuck some $$ away for later though.

At 6 months they only care that they are comfortable - wait until she is older and wants to dress to impress! It just won't do to pull out the baby pictures and show her how stylin' she was as a baby. She will much prefer to have the bucks to spend on the latest and greatest then!

I told my husband he doesn't know how lucky he is that child #3 was a boy. All of the baby girl clothes are so cute! I would have been dressing a girl and my DD7 alike. It would have cost him big time.

I had to quit working at Gymboree because I spent all of my earnings on clothes. The manager would just laugh at all of us SAHMs working for the discount.

It's okay to go crazy there, as long as you wait for the sales! Get on their email list. They let you know when the sales happen.

They have the BEST boy clothes in my opinion, if you are patient, much of it goes to $9.99 or lower. That's when to shop!

But, I have a really hard time getting stains out of their clothes, any help?

Try Gymsuds. Gymsuds gets anything out. I love it. If Gymsuds don't work...I use Shout Oxyclean.

My DS is 5 and he has always been dressed to the T. What can I say, I'm a clothes person. He wears Tommy, Nike etc. But I buy his clothes the year before on clearance so he can wear all the "expensive" names. I'm sure when I can start guessing my DD's size as she grows , I can do the same for her. I do try and get the Gymboree things on sale. Thats how I got in trouble tonight. They were having a 60% off sale. The bags are sitting in the garage, I think DH is asleep, when I'm sure it will be time to empty the truck. ;) :teeth:

Make sure to hold on to your receipt and check in with Gymboree this weekend. I think they are going to add an additional 20% off to all sale prices this weekend and you can get a price adjustment for the additional amount.

I work at Gymboree too! I have 3 DD's who can all wear Gymboree clothes (even my 10 year-old), so that 40% discount really helps. We all say that we pay them to work there, since we spend WAY more there than we make. I'm not a fan of the fishie line or the apple line and 4th of July line coming up. We are a tier 4 store though, so a lot of the cute stuff we don't get. Hoping the next look book has some cute stuff or I may have to quit. Of course, I always say that and I never do! ;)

Did you know that plans are in the works for Gymboree to expand the girls sizes up to size 12? Yahoo!

Wait until your DD starts moving around and those outfits start taking a really beating. When DD was really young she too wore only Gymboree, Baby Gap, Talbot Kids and Lands End. I learned my lesson the hard way when several outfits got stained to the point that they were never fully clean again. She now has a few nice outfits from these stores. However, she mostly wears stuff from Target which are just about as cute as for a fraction of the price.

Have fun while you can! My 3 dd's demanded their own sense of style by age 3! My oldest used to mix plaids, stripes and look SO cute! My middle used to wear one gold glittery shoe with a red glittery shoe or 2 different color socks!

Now my oldest is turning 12 and yearning for the "sexy" look (yikes!)

However, she mostly wears stuff from Target which are just about as cute as for a fraction of the price.

I agree. I've bought so much of that Genuine Kids stuff from Target -- which is a "generic" brand of Osh Kosh. It's cheap, it wears well, and I don't break out in hives when it gets stained.

But I have a baby boy. I have a feeling that if I had a girl, I would also have an urge to buy more.

I know I buy my kids too many clothes. I know that because when they outgrow them I have a friend to pass them down to and she told me the other day when she got her latest bag full that she hasn't had to buy her kids clothes at all in the last 2 years!:p
I buy nothing but gymboree, disney store, children's place, zoodles and osh kosh. I also save tons of money doing this. Wanna know my secret? I buy 95% of their clothes off of ebay!! Some are used, some are new, but all are so cute, and I save enough money to buy them more!

You can also buy clothes at Gymboree on sale, friends & family, or Gymbucks and then sell them on eBay and get a large portion of your money back. Once you factor in the sale and the money back on eBay (which I use for the next season of clothing). The clothes cost about as much as Target too but you get the quality. Of course, if you aren't into eBay then it won't work for you.

I once had an outfit that was in high demand sell for MORE used than I paid for it brand new (I paid full price for it too).

and she has a closet full of clothes from Gymboree (although it almost ALL was on sale.)

Another weakness - Janie and Jack, which apparently is the slightly more "upscale" division of Gymboree. They had a nautical collection for girls that was to die for....

Don't I know your pain.....
I average spending $3,500-4,000.00 per year for the last 7 years at Gymboree. Dang those American Express year-end summaries
:D
My DH gets very frustrated at how much I spend at Gymboree but I work and can spend whatever I want to. But..... there is a phenomemen(sp?) that has been going on the last 2 months that has not happened in the 7 years I have been buying Gymboree..... I do not like ANY of the last 5 lines. UGH!!!
I was telling my DH last night if things do not turn around my DD's will have no summer clothes.
The last line I liked was Tip Toe and I bought the entire line for both DD's and that's been it. Don't even like "Splash". This simply cannot continue.
Anyone remember the brief period on time a few years ago when they went away from the Mix and Match and went to what I like to call Tart clothes? I walked in the store every week or so and told them to pass on feedback that the store had to go back as before. Yeah! They did go back!
I am going to cry when my kids outgrow Gymboree.

When my two girls were young that was where I shopped as well! Enjoy it while you can....now their 7 & 10 and it's Abercrombie....$40 for a tshirt that is so paper thin its ridiculous!

Nothing cuter than a Gymboree child;)
