Any motivational gurus out there???

I need a swift kick in the bum!

HELP!

:cheer2:

Have you checked out 2 peas for inspiration?
Love your tag.. "do men come with instructions?"...If you find that instruction book forward a copy!!! :lmao:

Set yourself a goal...and just push for it...
Good luck!!!

Try joining the monthly challenge for this month- we get smilies based on the number of pages scrapped.

very cool ideas....thanks...
I know I just have to get this done...but it has proven to be more difficult then I thought.
I can't get to WDW soon...as you can see by my counter-I have a little time...BF won't go to WDW until I graduate..."we don't have time" In other words...you have to study and there will be no time for WDW right now...obtain the goal first...Gotta love him...

How do you gals find time! You're mostly parents...I'm sure you work too...
I am currently going to school full time and working full time and sometimes I don't know if I am coming or going...or maybe its both. If you see my tail could you tell it I'm looking for it...I seem to be chasing it pretty regularly!!!

thanks again...and also thank you for letting me vent.

I sat down tonight to scrap and realized...I didn't have anything I needed *pout*

ok I've been looking at 2peas...and there are some great ideas...now how do I find the time???

I think I need to make a date with myself!

ok I got some journalling done...for 3 pages...

I think part of it is that I am out of the loop..I havent scrapped in sooo long that I feel like I learning techniques all over again...
What techniques do you love to usee????

Most of us around here can so relate to that statement!!!! :)
Just take a few minutes out of your day and try to do a page or two...even if it is just sitting out the page, photos and pulling paper.... it will all come together..
Come and vent when you need... We are all a great bunch of gals and we have some guys on here too...that understand where you are coming from!!! :)
Come on over and join a challenge or two... :)

After CKC, I LOVE inking and chipboard. I hadn't really used them before and I can see them being used a lot more coming up

I find with my disney stuff especially that I get pages done faster if I first crop every single picture. Then I sort them by day or by park (depending on my mood at the moment) and then I do the pages one at a time. The sometimes randomness of the shapes of the pictures makes the pages more interesting and I don't do really detailed layouts so I can do a lot by using really cool papers and some basic embelishments. I just showed my 2005 trip book to a friend tonight and she didn't even realize that some of my pages (at the end when I just needed to be done) didn't have ANY mats - just really cool cropping and stickers on really cool paper.

That said - I have april 2007 disney to do before going in November and yesterday I finally sucked it up and did the last 4 or 5 events that I had pics for - nevermind that my 6 year old's book has a little hiatus since he was 3!!! I'm going to go backwards now to 3 I think!!! At least something is getting done.

I do the cropping all over the place too - and I have a craft room - but sometimes I need to be downstairs and it's easy enough to do at the kitchen table.

Join our July Challenge for some motivation :cheer2: I was able to do 200+ pages in June (2004 to present) I went through each year and put like events/seasons/holidays together and then did them for each year like an assembly line. I only had to pull out stuff once and then it was done. I'm a SAHM of a DD 7, so have some time during day but do alot at night after she's in bed and was really lucky in June with DH taking her a bunch on the weekends and playdates.
I'm still not caught up but put a BIG dent in my backlog.
Try setting aside a couple hours a week and go from there, good luck.......:cool1: :woohoo:  motivation going your way.

:thumbsup2 hi! I just got done with Sept.2006 from Walt Disney World, because I just got home from Disneyland and 9 days in California !! and I'm getting ready to go to Washington DC.........now I just need to go thru the 800 pictures from Cali. and get some printed......:rolleyes1 :hippie: have fun!

ok I went to 2peas again...I think I want to do a L/O with circles. I feel so out of the loop b/c I haven't been playing in so long..So, here is my next question...

What is your favorite technique???

right now it's inking and destressing. I got some different colored inks from my secret sister and I love the look I get.

OK distressing-
This is from a class at CKC Valley Forge last year. I used fine grit sand paper to sand away the pattern on the edge of the printed paper. You can also use a special blade to tear up the edges a bit.

Inking-
I used a cat's eye pigment ink pad to shade the edges of the paper, it gives it a dirty and aged look. I used dark brown.

same concept here but using a mauve color.

When sanding the easiest thing to use it the coarsest sandpaper you can find. Also place you paper against the edge of something hard (that can get sanded- we used the edge of a table in class) and then make long strokes in one direction.

You know what...I think I just need to go back to using Basic Grey. That way I can get all of the papers and matching cardstock and I'm not sitting there matching everything....Sometimes that is my biggest challenge...
Ok I'm going to make sometime this month at the store and sit and crop...slowly but surely I will get this done!
You are all great! Thank you!
