Okay, okay, I was not going to jump in, but I was moved to.
What someone carries, to me, is their business--carry a Walmart plastic bag, for all I care or even notice.
But
to throw stones at the lady for wanting a less expensive version/style of purse is nuts.
Paying $300-$400 for a purse. . . A PURSE, for heaven's sake, is ridiculous, to me. If people are so concerned about who makes the knockoffs, ask yourself how many poor you could feed for your $300+ "real" purse? Isn't there ONE child that you know who needs a winter coat? How many could you buy for over $300? Could your church or synogogue use the money for outreach programs? Buy 10-15 turkeys and give to the poor in your town for Christmas. . . that warm feeling will last longer than any PURSE.
It's a purse, people.
I know that many of you do give to the less fortunate, but, if you can afford a $400 bag to carry on your arm, aren't you able to give more?
Maybe this lady wants a less expensive purse because she gives 20% of her income to her church and charities.
Point is--don't blame her for wanting a budget-friendly option; don't proselytize to her about child labor when you are carrying a $300 bag on your arm, and you KNOW that there are hungry people in your town.
I don't mean to be mean, but we need to get real here.
