Help! I am looking for knockoff purse?

Hey, I'm not sure how close you are to Norwalk, CT but the Dooney and Bourke factory has a tent sale the first weekend in December, I believe. You can get the real deal for rock bottom prices! :cool1: And if you go on the Sunday, everything is usually an additional 10% off.
Also, I am guilty of buying knock-offs once in awhile b/c I love having a ton of different purses! I've gotten some really great looking fake ones on the street in NYC.

:rolleyes1 If I am going to find one..i know it will be here:banana:
I want to get my dd a prada or lv or coach purse. Someone around me had a "Party" last year but I guess the women doesnt do it anymore. I got a very nice BB for 45.00..and the walllet for 16.00.
Any help???

Have you tried the coach outlet store in Wrentham. I brought DD a new purse from there for 60.00. They did not have a wallet to match it but I found that at Marshalls in Canton. They also carry the purses

I had a Coach knock off that I wore for several years before it fell apart so that was well worth it. Anyone know a website that they would recommend?

Please reconsider buying knock-off handbags, you may be contributing to:

Child labor violations...a small child may have stitched your knock off handbag. As a matter of fact, it's likely. And this child may be working 16 hours a day in a sweat shop, making a dollar or two a day, if they are lucky.

Organized Crime...organized crime is deeply involved in the knock off arena. Anything that makes a fast buck is what these people go after, and knock offs are easy money for them. All it takes is a phone call or an e-mail to get the ball rolling to one of many countries that run huge knock off designer handbag and counterfeit product manufacturing companies (sweat shops), and they are in business.

Terrorism...organized crime is deeply involved in knock off designer handbags and thousands of other counterfeit operations because it's easy money. Terrorist are no different. Except the money they get goes right into supporting terrorism activities. Like funding training camps, recruiting suicide bombers (children), and funding more businesses for the same ends.

Yeah, what she said!

Seriously, why pretend you have a Coach bag?

It's like you're either saying "I have enough money for a Coach bag" when you don't, or "I want to fool you into thinking I have enough money to afford a Coach bag".

I find the need to impress other people with labels a particularly insidious part of American society. Debt levels are at an all time high because people feel the need to "keep up with the Joneses" (who are in actuality in debt up to their eyeballs too!).

Even if you're "pretending" by buying a knockoff, you're still trying to fool people into thinking you can keep up!

Who cares!

Just go to Marshalls and get a good solid purse. Yes, the real Coach bags are well made. But not 400 dollars worth of well made. You're paying 100 for well made and the other 300 dollars is the Coach name to impress people. If you LIKE impressing people, that's fine, but don't say you bought it for the quality.

Seriously, people, who cares what your neighbor/pta/friends think? Just do what makes you happy!

If seeing your friends get all envious about your purse makes you happy, well, I guess ok, but that just seems so messed up to me....

I guess I'm a little sensitive about this because my friend went to NYC and picked a knockoff Kate Spade purse for her daughter, who was in middle school, and she was like, don't tell her it's fake! I was like, what are you teaching your daughter? That not only is she lying to her daughter, but she's teaching her 11 yo daughter that stupid stuff like expensive purses matter and make you a better person or increases your status at school somehow? Man, messed up!!!!! We don't hang out so much anymore...

Unless the bag actually has a fake Coach label, why would you assume the owner is "pretending" she has a Coach bag? Maybe she just likes that particular style but doesn't want to spend hundreds of bucks?

Even if you're "pretending" by buying a knockoff, you're still trying to fool people into thinking you can keep up!

Who cares!

Who cares? Not me. If I like a purse, I'll buy it. I couldn't care less if someone points at me and screams "That's not a real Coach bag!" :rotfl: I'd laugh and say "You're right! I'd never spend that much money on a silly purse!" I would never buy a fake - a purse that has a Coach tag and pretends to be a Coach bag. But if I see a purse I like and it happens to be in a style similar to a Coach bag, I'll buy it.

I was window shopping at a department store's Coach counter once, and I looked at a wallet but said it was out of my budget. The employee working the counter said "But you have that Coach bag. You need a nice Coach wallet to go with it." I laughed and said "I bought this at JC Penney!"

ITA, I'm talking strictly about the labels, not the style. If I remember correctly, most of the expensive purses have their labels rather predominantly displayed. When you're talking about a bag with a handle, really, there are only so many places you can go design-wise :rotfl:. A beautiful, well designed bag can be made by anybody...

I began buying coach on ebay-started with older, cheaper used ones....then I did not look like "new Money". A leather Coach has lasted my sister in law 12 years of daily use!

I moved into the standard styles (not the faddish models) and have accumulated so many nice pieces from Ebay.

Went to Gettysburg and found a great deal at the outlet-no one knows I paid half for this all leather beauty!

Vera Bradley wear out with daily use. I have bought them as the styles are discontinued and bought the real thing for as little as 60% of original cost. Check you boutique stores-go to Vera's web site and locate her dealers- they all discount from season to season. Put your name on their email list and you'll get notice when they discount stock.

When you buy knock offs you can be supporting criminal entities and terrorism.

PLUS they are embarassing-people who have the real thing can spot a fake. Our family sent my daughter a "GOACH" (our name for a fake coach) and our son a $50. best buy certificate last Christmas.....we could tell it was a fake and it was hard to tell if the family knew it when they sent it (or they actually thought is was the real thing). They could have spent $50 on a real Liz or other style handbag that was better made, or just sent a gift card.

It was embarassing because they have never travelled or shopped on the investment level (we buy 1 good thing and hold on to it forever-they buy fashion every season and throw alot out). When my daughter thanked them for the purse and for their thinking of her - they were really excited that she liked it...and that was more awkward because we did not want to encourage them to send more at another special occasion.

You can also go to Joanne's Fabric and crafts and find quilted and reg. fabrics and patterns to make your own- then it is a one of a kind-definately not a knockoff! (Maybe you can design some and become the next vera bradley!).

Isn't this illegal.......... Knock offs!

You can buy a real coach bag at the outlet in Kittery Maine for 40.00.
This is what I paid many years ago and the purse is still in great condition.

Knockoffs are illegal to sell, but not to buy.

Hopefully that will change in the future to where it will be illegal to buy fakes too. All these fakes are made mostly in China, and China rips us off enough as it is.

I would never buy a fake anything. First and foremost, I would be stealing from the company who makes the real purses, watches, sunglasses, etc.

Second, I would feel like a fake myself trying to pass off something that is not genuine. (I have real LV, Gucci, Coach and Fendi bags at home, and you can tell the difference, especially with the LV bags.)

One time my kids bought Jokely's in NYC. They fell apart on the way home. :cool1:

They learned from that experience to save up for what they what and buy the real thing. :thumbsup2

Knockoffs that use the labels and logo of actual designer bags are illegal. Knockoffs that are only "inspired by" more expensive bags, and use the same general style but not the designer's name or logo, are legal.

I have sold some of my Dooney Bourkes on ebay ( real ones).........I paid a lot of money for them ,but just got tired of them. So check ebay you may find a great deal.
also check TJ Maxx and Marshalls's, I find real Dooney & Bourke purses there all the time, significantly cheaper than dept store.
also if you have a dept store charge, like macy's, they have sales, and offer extra discounts for card holders at times. you end up with a good discount on a purse like that.
oh and another place to find discounted Dooney Bourke is QVC, when they have dooney on they always have a special of the day, and the prices are low.

also check out your local vera bradley retailer, there is always a sale on discountinued patterns............we have a dept store here that always offers 20% off any pattern, check around you may find a deal. also they sell them at hallmark stores around here, and if you find a coupon for a hallmark store good for anything, you can get a good amount off a vera bradley.

oh and I almost forgot about the knock offs.
I see them at flea markets here in the summer, and there is one indoor flea market around that has them too.
so if there are any flea markets in your area, check there for knock offs.

There is a COACH outlet store in Kittery Maine...I haven't been in there ( I don't do purses) but I want to let you knoe...
oh i forgot about that! i have been in the one in Hershey PA.
oh and there is a dooney bourke outlet in Freeport ME..........i haven't been there in years, so i assume its still there, but they always have good deals

check the coach outlets..you can find a great purse in there for under 100.00 easy...i shop the coach outlets and I also go to dillards because they have sales all the time on their coach bags....

Thank you for posting this. We had seen a child in Egypt beaten mercilessly because he was ill and this was at a sweat shop that produced knock off bags.It took all we could not to step in and stop the beast that was doing this but our friend stopped us, he said if we interfered it would be very bad for us and even worse for the poor child.:sad1: Also the fake bag industry drives up the prices of the real thing. If there were no fakes then the real thing would be more attainable. I have a coach diaper bag and a hobo and Dooney and Bourke bags, I got a good deal on the diaper bag online because I found a code for it and the outlets usually always have great deals too. I have seen nice ones on Ebay for reasonable prices and Kohls has a great selection of really nice leather bags. Buying a fake to save money (and I understand why) is not enough to put a child into jeopardy.

You do realize that you can be arrested for knowingly buying a "knock off" in some places?

I am not sure that anyone has actually been arrested or if it really gets enforced, but...it has scared me off LOL!

(Plus I actually love my Longchamp purse and I don't think it's a big knockoff brand here)

The "purse parties" specialize in fakes... and if it's a fake you're looking for then I hope you'll take the previous poster's information about how WRONG they are to heart... It's not worth it to cause all that harm IN ADDITION to making yourself look like a fool.

But I totally understand the "inspired by" trend... and they're not hard to find at all! All of the malls by me have kiosks selling them perfectly legally!

Witnesssing something as horrific as that is important to pass on because most people don't realize how these are produced. I don't fault anyone for wanting them, I'm as envious of an expensive handbag as anyone else and I would like to pay $40 for a bag that looked identical to a $2400 one.

My stepson was one of the first in Afghanistan (Army) and within hours of arriving, he saw 4 yr. old boys wearing guns that weighed more than they did. These weapons were funded by the designer knock-off business and cell phone fraud. I'm sure those children would've rather been working in the sweat shops that produced them - their country was even too poor for that - instead they were disposable and sent out die.

I've never attended a purse party, but in this area anyway, most of that stuff comes from NYC and then is marked up (even at knock-off standards) and sold at the parties. Of course since it is ILLEGAL it's all cash only.

Banshee- that is horrific! :sad1:
