The worst thing happened today.My daughter has knocked a glass of coke all over our passports.It hasn't gone on the page with the photo id on etc but some of the pages have a brown stain.I have dried them out but due to security etc in the usa I am so worried they won't let us in.I have phoned the passport office and they were not much help.I cannot believe it and feel gutted as we are due to marry there next thursday.Has anyone else got marks on their passport.PLease help.

thankyou :sad2: :sad2:

Take a deep breath, I'm sure it will be fine, things like that happen all the time!! I'm sure it's magnified 10x with all the excitement of a trip, and a wedding on top of a trip!! Congratulations, sounds like you're off for the trip of a lifetime!! Report back in to us with pictures when you get back and let us know how it went!

I hope you are right.Passports over in the uk and any damage means a new one and we don't have time to get one.I feel sick and will not rest till we have got through passport contral.Thanks for the reassurance.

A couple of suggestions:

- try again with the Passport Office, some people who work there are more helpful than others;

- try contacting the passport control folks at your closest airport;

- contact the US Embassy (remember, you don't just need your passport to get out of and back into the UK, you need it to get into the US too).

I understand your stress (and frustration) but I would not give up on this until you've either been able to obtain new passports or have received an unequivocal answer. Be the squeaky wheel!

HTH, good luck and congratulations on the wedding. And in future, don't put your passports where coke can be spilled on them!

I have just spoken to immigration at manchester airport and they told me as long as the bioreadable page wasn't damaged we would be fine.I am so relieved as she ahs given us a reference to quote and if any problems to quote this.And I will never leave the passports on the table near a drink again!!!!!
thankyou

Good luck, hope all goes well.
