the topic says it all .. but .. Ok i have the kids all packed and i am almost all packed .. how do you convince your DH to sart packing or at leats make a list of clothing he would like to take or do you just pack for him .. he waited till 2 nights before we left for Vegas to pack and it drove me nuts now that we are going to WDW its driving me crazy that he has not starting to pack .. any ideas i am open to all suggestions .. :yo-yo:

I wouldn't worry about it ... sounds like he's a last minute packer ... did he pack everything he needed for your Vegas trip?

You might go ahead and write out a list for him, esp. if he forgot "necessities" the last time around.

When we went in January DH forgot his shaving cream, so he made due with soap, LOL!

well, around here, I do the packing, for the 4 of us.

Dh hasn't a clue what's packed for him until we arrive. Though he wears the same clothes here in the summer, so it's not like he's going to be suprised..

When he went to Amsterdam with his brothers, they laughed because he had a small vanity packed ...q-tips, t-paper, antacids etc... they went with just small bottles of shampoo, and a bar of soap...however, when they got there and found out that yes, me being the one who use to be an international travel agent, I might just know more than them...LOL...

Anyway- why sweat it, just pack for him...saves on your nerves, and since it's not like he's concerned, why should you be?

My husband travels alot. He always waits until just before he leaves to pack, ie., packs at 4:00 AM for a 6:30AM flight. If we leave for vacation after the kids come home from school. He comes home from work and packs and then we leave. He's never late or causes us to be late. He is a very reliable man who does not procrastinate. For some reason, this is his method of packing ~ and for him, it works. I could never do it this way, and have realized that I can't let it bother me. I pack for the children and myself. Since I am the one in the family who does the laundry, I just make sure the clothes are clean for departure. Just look forward to the vacation.

On our Honeymoon many years ago, DH packed for himself. For the week he packed 1 shirt and two pairs of pants. . We went shopping! I just know that packing is part of my job to get us on vacation. I plan and pack it. He pays for it and we are all happy!!!
Do whatever makes it less stress for you!!

You are all the way packed and you don't leave for three weeks? (by your countdown)
:earseek:

I am like JRLATL's husband. I can't pack until right before I leave for somewhere, usually the night before. And honestly, I usually get up early to finish packing on the day we leave. I would drive you crazy! ;) and it's not like I am procrastinating on purpose, I just dislike packing more that two-three days out. I have tried to do it, and it just doesn't work for me at all.

I agree with everyone else, can you pack for him? Can you make a list for him?

fianly got him to at leats write down what he wanted to take now i feel better .. and yes i am half packd for myself and all packed for the kids ( didn't want them wearing the new clothing i had gotten them already ) trust me it was safer to pack all the kids clothing already.. but thanks all for the posts i am a bit more relaxed :jester: now just can't wait to do the single diget dance..LOL

My DH keeps making fun of me because we are at 46/45 days until we leave and I keep asking him to get the luggage out of the attic. Hey, what can I say! I'm excited!!! We also bought a lot of new clothes for the trip and I have nowhere to put them, they're all stacked up, just waiting.

My DH wont pack until the night before our trip. I already have the majority of my and ds's stuff packed. I figured we arent wearing those clothes in 40 degree Chicago, so I might as well just put them in the suitcase after washing.

I also have a 'hotel' bag packed for ds and myself, that way we dont have to lug all the suitcases in to the hotel on the road. Of course, DH thinks we need to take everything out of the truck at the hotel for fear someone will break in and steal our clothes.

I don't pack until the day before the trip either. A few days before I start throwing things in a corner as I think of them. I have laundry all done, then pack. Yes we come home to piles of clean laundry that didn't make the cut. Husband travels to Europe every 60 days and packs about 2 hours before he has to leave. He has yet to forget anything. Don't sweat it. If you forget it , you can always get it at WDW, and this is from someone that wears a 3x clothing.

If you are flying, and the suitcases in the attic are full-sized pullmans, you might want to get them down ASAP; not to pack them, but to measure them. If they are too big for the new size limits, you might need to buy new ones before the trip.

Check your airline's webpage for the maximum current allowed dimensions, and make sure your bags are not too large. The oversize fees are VERY stiff.
