HELP! How important is DVC member Card?

Has anyone been able to add the DVC to your room key when you've made a cash not points reservation, I tried in SSR last year and reception said they could not link them! I still got the discount just by showing my DVC card but it meant carrying that as well as the room key.

For cash through MS yes, for cash through CRO, I don't think it can be done. We'll technically they could, but they won't. The same for those who are members and stay on RCI trades.

Why don't you try it with the free DVC valet parking? Generally I don't like surprises, esp where money is involved. I esp hate negotiating for something, like DVC discounts, that should be easily garnered without issue.

We have been members since October and never received the Member Cards. I emailed MS and they said they would send them out. We'll see.

We have been members since September '09 (according to our card) but we didnt really close until October. Anyway, we got our member card in the mail on 2/11 and our flight to LA was 2/12. SO I am thinking that you should get it this month.

YES! You will find it under the Members Priveleges section of DVC member site.

The portable perks is usually the best source. while the info is listed on the member website, it's not all compiled together. You might look at allears.net for a more concise summary of some of the discounts. Once you get a portable perks, keep it as a reference and replace it as you get the option of a new one.
