Help: how do you get to CCC for rental?

We are using Magical Express to get to WDW for our October trip but were thinking it might be nice to get a rental car once we get on property, a day or two later (to save $$$$). We have a late flight out on our last day and would prefer to dump our bags in our car after check out and still enjoy our day by doing whatever the heck we want to do, which has yet to be determinied!!

Even though Magical Express is awesome, when we used it before, we kind of hated the way our departure was so controlled.

Would we need to get a cab to the CCC to pick up a National rental? Or would they possibly pick us up at our hotel? Is it quick and easy?

Yes, there's a free shuttle that will pick you up. You need to call at least an hour ahead of time to arrange it.

Are you thinking of renting at CCC and returning to MCO (to avoid using ME on return?) I ask because with car rentals so much this year I checked out that option as well. I wouldn't mind taking ME to POP but would prefer to not take back to MCO. Thing was that it was more expensive to pick up the car on our 2nd day at CCC and return it to MCO. It was over a $100 to return to different location.

BTW, I just rebooked my Alamo rental and it dropped $40 today for a full size.
