I have been awaiting mail from Hotwire savings club for one of my Park-hopper tix. Well....I called Hotwire today to ask for a tracking number(not a problem), I then went to the aiborne expree site and entered my tracking number and it said that it was delivered to my local post office on July, 22......almost 2 weeks ago and still haven't been sent to my house.

I think I will go to the Post office tomorrow morning but what do I tell the USPS. "Hey, someone delivered a package to me and sent it here but you haven't delivered it yet, go find it???"

I want to know the best way to approach them without getting angry.

Help me:( :( TIA

This has happened to me three times, although not with Hotwire. Merchants have shipped things postal and it's arrived at the PO never to reach my house. Both times I went to the PO and talked to them about it. Be forewarned -- it's not a quick fix. They have some internal procedure set up to find missing things. And they won't admit it's lost ( I learned this is because if they admit to losing it, the retailer will make them pay for it, so they'll blame it on anything else to get out of paying for the merchandise). Anyway, once they run through their process, they'll either tell you they found it and deliver it, or suggest that it never made it to their office (only if they can find "proof" that they lost it will they admit fault). If they can't find it, you'll have to go back to the retailer and explain what happened. Then you're at the mercy of their good graces to replace/resend the item or refund your money. Of course, as a last recourse you can call your credit card company (assuming you paid by cc) and stop payment on the transaction for non-receipt of merchandise. One time they found my item, but the other two times the item was never found (one did turn up about three months later, having been delivered to the wrong address) and the retailer resent the item UPS (more reliable). All told it took about 2 weeks each time to straighten it out.

But I see you only have nine days and I'm sorry I don't havve more encouraging news for you. First go to the PO and see what they say. It may just be misplaced and an eassy fix. If it's not an easy fix, I think I'd first ask hotwire to resend the tix (and pay for upgraded shipping). Try to bargain with them -- ensure that should the other one turn up, you will return it unused and they can charge your credit card for two until you return the other one (might work) or put a stop on the transaction on you card and just get the tix from somewhere else. That's about all I can think to do, just be prepared to be frustrated. Sorry. :(

Gosh! Isn't Airborne now DHL??? Call DHL customer service, you can get their number from DHL.com. They were REAL nice and helpful when I called them. Good luck

If it's DHL, it seems strange that they would deliver it to the post office. When we ordered from Hotwire, they sent our order DHL and the DHL delivery person left it in our hall (we live in a condo building and the hallway is pretty safe for packages).

maybe you need to change the heading since it's a post office problem and kind of misleading. :) if it's a small post office ( like mine ) they just kind of "forget" about things sometimes..(.like my magazines that come a week or 2 after everyone elses, i think due to my post mistress taking a long time to read it first...ones in plastic come on time as well as news ones but she likes the better homes and garden ( ) I'd go ask and tell them it was delivered there and for them to find it. hope you find your tickets but think they would have already charged them and don't really know what recourse you would have unless hotwire insures them or something. btw airborne from ohio -fl didn't bother to deliver my "paid extra for overnight "package till 2 business days later...so much for their service!

DHL and the postal service have some sort of agreement. I don't know if they use it everywhere, but here some businesses ship DHL, then DHL delivers it to the PO for final delivery. This is how I get purchases shipped from the Disney Store when I choose standard shipping. DHL delivers it to the PO (the PO signs for it, which makes it hard to bring a case against DHL because they delivered it where they were supposed to), who then delivers it to me.

Yes, that is what I thought. You really should call DHL because I'm sure they could look into it and ease your mind.

The same exact thing happened to me, but with Connections. I had ordered our park hoppers and didn't receive the order....they said that DHL delivered it to my local post office. They put a tracker on the shipment that their people scan at delivery....and they told me exactly which day it was checked in at my post office (we also live in a small town).

I called the post office and they of course didn't know anything about it....told me everything was delivered...I called Connections back, they told me to call the post office because they had a confirmation that it was delivered, etc.

Anyway, about a month later, I got lucky and found a supervisor at Connections that went in and filed a claim on the order and re-issued me new ones......which I received about a week later, and which I had to sign for.

Anyway, 5 months later, yes, 5 months, our Postman delivered my original order...and it was dated when Connections and DHL told me it was....I watched him as he delivered it...he had to scan the barcode before he delivered it...

Once it came into the house and I had the tracking number, I checked on-line and sure enough, it was shipped and delivered when everyone was telling me so and it was "lost" at my local post office for 5 months!

I would ask if there is a tracking number and do some checking myself.

I received a DHL envelope in my mailbox today and it took me a moment to realize that it was my Hotwire order, shipped to the local Post Office and then delivered with my regular mail. It worries me a bit that my $400 order didn't need a signature at its final destination.
