Ok, so we are going WDW 1/27-2/1/09. My birthday is the 30th so we have plans for my bday. My wife has never been she isnt as in to it as I am. I want to make it special for her, I dont want the focus to be on me and my bday but more on her and her first trip.

We are in our late 20s and not really fancy people and dont have tons of money..... we are staying at POP and seeing Cirque. Other then that we just have what we are doing on my Bday. Please help me think of something that will really WOW her.

I tried to get a hold of the Pixies but they never responded after I sent back the questionairre.

ANY ideas will help!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!:confused3

Make sure she gets a "1st time" button and wears it. That alone is likely to garner her some little magical moments. :flower3:

The thing that has always wowed me the most at WDW has been the fireworks - Wishes and Illuminations in particular.

Maybe try and get an ADR in Epcot for a nice dinner and plan it so that you'll be finished just in time for Illuminations. Or even just stake out a nice spot with a lovely beverage and a delicious snack/dessert. Cheers! :goodvibes

How about Jellyrolls one evening? Lots of fun and a great place to just chill.

Maybe try for reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table or 1900 Park Fare and get her a chocolate slipper dessert? A reservation at the Coral Reef with a seat next to the aquarium might be very nice too, you can get customized menus there too! Or make it a point to find her favorite character and get a picture!

I think my most magical moment at Disney with my DH(who is not as in to it as me!) was at the MK for our 15th wedding anniversary week without the DD's. It was at night in the dark when main street was all lit up and spectromagic was starting. DH came out with cotton candy and drinks and we sat down on the curb and just took it all in (music, costumes, lights, etc..)We held hands and snuggled and just enjoyed being together. Sometimes the unexpected moments turn out to be the ones most cherished:flower3:

:) How about a cute little pair of Mickey Earrings or special charm for a necklace and then pass it to her after wishes and tell her that "all my wishes have come true--I have you" and give it to her then. I would just love for DH to do that for me. I remember the second trip we went he somehow managed to get us the same magical table in the wine room at CA Grill for our anniversary 2 years in a row. That was cool. He also somehow managed to replace a missing ornament that I purchased from the Christmas store there that never arrived-also very sweet and so thoughtful. It really is the little things. I just like the idea of some little gift to help her remember the magic. Good luck and have a wonderful time.:thumbsup2 :santa:

I love the "all my wishes' idea.

I would like if I was surprised with a special desert you have to order ahead-like the glass slipper. Last trip I order the mini castle cake for myself.

My DBF took me on a carriage ride after Hoop De Doo which was nice.

You could order some flowers through Disney florist. I am not sure the price but I would love it. I know people say you are never in your room but for the time I am in there I would love it. Just something that is a surprise.

Would she like if you preordered a photo pass? You could even do one of the special photo sessions.

Well now...me and the Mrs will be headin' that-a-way On December 20 and stayin' at the Pop Century a night. Then to The All star Sport from 21-New Years. So we do this often enough and I recall our first time a few years back.

Now first thing ya need to know is that we both were unsure in going. It was like this could be nice and maybe a little fun but I doubted it's be the bees knees. Once we got there I just melted. The feel of the place is enough. It just rockets a person into the sixth dimension and life takes an odd turn. The first time I met and got a hug from Old Baloo the Bear and King Louis the Orangutan...and the first time I hugged Pooh and Piglet and Tigger and that mopey old donkey Eyeore I just found myself crying a bit like every sadness I ever knew existed and thems what didn't know existed just melted right away. It was cathartic and I loved it. Maybe your little dish will feel this way as well. :cloud9:

Now as to one special thing to do for her? Well now sonny you say you are not flush in the cash area. If that means like not having any souvenir money then just trade a dollar in for a mickey dollar. That is a great thing to get her. But if you can afford say 50 or 60 clams then take her to the Boutique.

Just google Bibbidy Boppity Boutique

Here she can have her hair done like a princess and get glittery makeup and have her nails done. She can even buy a crown or tiara and a wand beforehand. Now granted they do not let adult girls pick out the dress which would be fun but you can bring a nice dress and just pack it and change before the session. Then you get into a nice jacket and tie and wash your face and comb your hair and then you get your photos done and get them developed.

Speaking of photos make sure to get the photo pass. Roving photographers will be able to take your pictures and then later you get those put onto a cd and you can put them on a web page for the whole world to see.

Now I am not sure how close you two are, but if you really want to blow her away this time and make it a never forget moment then do what I did some time back.

You take your lady to the boardwalk and go strolling hand in hand. Port Orleans is also good for this and fort wilderness. But back to never forget time. On the boardwalk you wait until you are along the water at the place where you just feel the magic tickling your fancy (or wherever it tickles you) and you get down on one knee and propose to her then and there.

I hope this helps some. If I thinks of anything else I will be sure to let you know.

What about a Disney Welcome package from the Disney Florist. I added a link to the Mickey welcom pack. It is a little pricey, but I'm sure if you called the magic makers at the florist they could put something together that is in your budget and have it delivered to your room before you check in!

I also like the idea of sneaking off to get her a pair of Mickey earring/pendant. They have them at every shop and cost less than $20. I get a pair every year!

Let us know what you end up doing! So many of us are softies for stories like these!

Great ideas everyone! I think I might try to do a little of everything mentioned for her! I like the wish come true idea, the nice quiet moments, the pin and I really do like the welcome pack. I will keep you all posted. I am sure it will have a nice surprise when we get there!!!!!

how about doing the pick a pearl at either downtown disney or Japan in Epcot. It is fun and she can pick a necklace, pin or ring to have it set in.
