Help, help, help! Tried to use code and totally confused!

Okay - I just read the post about the pins. I received the 40% code email and it expires March 31. After figuring the the numbers all different ways I decided that since we want to stay at the Poly this time it makes more sense to use the room discount even if they do free dining in Sept (which is when we will travel). Okay so I am all set and call for our ressy. From what I read I should be able to get the room at 40% off and the rack rate for tickets w/ dining correct? Well the guy that was helping me said no way they never offer the 40% off and then let you book the dining plan. He wouldn't even let me add my Magic plan for tickets - he just wanted me to book the room?! The other issue was the dates the codes apply for. The code says nights 'through Sept 27'. My dd's bday is Sept 27 so we would want to check out the 28th. He said he only wanted to book it for us through the 27th to make sure 'they wouldn't charge us the rack rate for the last day'. Huh? Who is they - isn't it him and if it was going to do that wouldn't it tell him right at that time what rate they would charge us for the night of the 27th???

Okay so for those of you that have used codes - can't I add the Magic your Way tickets w/ dining? If you booked right up until the end date of the promotion was that the last night or the check out date for the promotion?

Thank you so much - I was so excited to call and now I am so confused! Should I call back tomorrow and hopefully get another agent that will add the plan and change the day for me?

According to CandianGuy's post it should work. The discount is on the room portion and the tickets/dining plan is full price. Does your email have any fine print that says otherwise? I would suggest calling back.

I don't have a pin specifically but I am booked with a discount on the hotel portion and I am getting tickets and dining plan.

Regarding the final night; Disney is getting more specific about rates per day so it may be that you are excluded on that last night. Try calling again.

when you call hit for packages not the rooms when you get promted to pudh buttons

I would try to call again. We are booked November 9-16th and the code is good for Nov. 9-15. The CM I talk to told me that it is good through the night of the 15th and checking out on the 16th and we also booked as a package. Room and park tickets.

Wow.... sounds like this cast member didn't know what they were doing.
I have had it happend a few times where one CM is clueless and then next is very knowledgable.

Call back and speak to another castmember. We had a pin code last year..and it was for the room. I then added the dining and the passes. The discount is only on the room portion. You pay the 38.00 for the dining per person per day, and then the price of the tickets.

My code was good through November 1st which means checking out the 1st That sounds questionable to me. If it's valid through the 1st , then that should be the last night, not the checkout date.

I knew I would have to pay full price for the DDP but he told me I couldn't even get it with the discount which sounded really strange to me - I asked him like 3 times and he kept saying 'no that would be 2 discounts and we can't do that (since the DDP is supposed to save up to 30%)' - you will have to pay OOP for any meals you want to do'. Like I said the strangest part is he wouldn't even add the park tickets in - he just wanted to book the room.

As far as the last night goes I guess we will have to pay whatever the rate is since we need it. If those are the dates I need then he should be able to tell me what the rate is right? Instead he basically was trying to tell me we had to check out the last day of the promotion and couldn't stay that last night.

At some point I realized I either wasn't making myself clear or he didn't know what he was doing and I just said forget it I'll call back.

I think I talked to the exact same guy - he was VERY convincing that I couldnt use my code and get DDP, even kind of laughed at me. I remembered the advice here to call back - so after waiting no more than 1/2 hour I called back and was just honest....I said "I just called, but didn't book because I wanted DDP and...." before I could even finish this CM said "We can do it, some CM's are new and dont know how!" That was that, and I booked right away. Good luck, it will be fine!

It's pretty obvious this CM needs to go through re-training. An 'implied' savings of 30% is NOT a discount!!

Call again; and if need be, keep calling until you get a CM who knows how to book the package you want.

The CM I spoke to said the discount was good for the Nov. 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, & 15th.

We booked checking in on the 9th and checking out on the 16th at the POFQ Standard View @ $99.00 per night plus two 8 day park hopper passes for a total of $1348.54.

I had originally tried to book the 8th-16th but the discount was not available for the 8th.

It is definately worth a shot to ask the CM about that last night.
