Help having a mild panic attack - Beach Club Villas

Hi

We are visiting the beach club villas for the 1st time in August - I was googling away (as you do ) looking for information about stormalong bay as it is one of the major attractions for us - and I found some information about how Disney restricts access and ensures that only hotel guests use the pool and that even dvc guests can't use it.

Please tell me this isn't true - as if it is my daughter will be devastated - she'll be like the poor kid with her nose pressed up against the toy shop window with no money to go in

You will have access to Stormalong Bay if you are staying at Beach Club Villas.

No worries. You are considered a guest at BC. Just remember to have everyone's room keys when you go down. I have heard sometimes they even want the childs room key. I haven't experienced that level of security (just the adults) but I don't go in the summer months either.

I might caution you that going to SAB with a child may not result in a relaxing day.

We stayed at BCV MLK weekend 2008 and yes they wanted to see everyone's room key.

So to the OP, take all your room keys.

We stayed there last August and had no problems - but we DID need to show all of our room keys to get the wrist bands.

Yes, your room key will get you a wrist band (and you may need it for charging also (or take money) -- tube rental is $3.00 per hour or $10.00 per day -- at least it was this past Nov., when, alas, the slide wasn't open). It is a bit of a hike from DVC to the pool -- be sure to remember which direction you came from (I ended up taking the long/wrong way back!).

Our last stay they didn't check everyone's keys, just us adults. But take them all just in case.

We bought pool noodles rather than rent tubes for the lazy river and thought they worked just fine for us. I can't remember if we bought them at winn dixie or there at the pool.
Check out the pool games while you are there, that was a favorite for us and we won some really nice prizes.

I suspect the information you saw was in regards to pool hopping. DVC members who are staying at WDW on their DVC points are allowed to use pools at most of the other WDW resorts except for the pools at YC/BC/BCV, AKV and BLT. So as a guest at BCV you can use SAB but DVC members staying at a different resort cannot come to BCV and use SAB.

DVC members that are NOT staying at the Beach Club Villas are restricted from pool-hopping to Storm Along Bay. If you are staying in the villas, of course you can use the pool.

Thanks everyone you have put my mind at rest - planning a disney vacation sure takes a lot of planning - however we love it when we get there.

We will definately make sure that we have our room keys with us at all times - I guess they will have the dining plan loaded on them - they did last year anyway. last year we had our park entry on them as well but not sure this will be possible this year as I plan to get the park tickets in the uk before we set out unless someone knows whether I can buy the same ticket at WDW

Its the 14 day ultimate ticket for the price of 7 day pass (access to all parks, hopper, water parks and disney quest nd some other stuff as well) I've looked on the US disney site and can't find it - it currently costs approx $325 for adults and $285 for kids does that sound a lot (it sounds a lot less in pounds it's only £210 and £183 )- but I really do want a 14 day pass and I could only find 10 days available in US

US residents don't have access to the 14 day pass. The longest we have is 10 days.
