DH's work is having a meeting in Orlando in less than 2 months. I did a whole bunch of research for them on Coronado Springs and they loved it. Now the lady that's doing the planning for the meeting wants to find someplace else because she heard that CS wasn't clean - I find that very hard to believe.

I'm looking for some first (or second) hand reports from people who have attended a meeting at CS.

Thanks guys!

I was at a convention at CSR in June. The place was very clean! No problems at all and the CM's were very helpful. It was a great place for a convention.

Thanks Safetymom. Can you tell me more about your meeting?

Was it a large group? How was the food? Did you stay at CSR?

Did you have any group activities?

I'm eager for details if you don't mind sharing them. :)

I attended a conference at WDW that had a bunch of meetings there and also had a big function in the ballrom. I was very impressed with their operation. I had never seen it before and thought they had done a great job. One night we were supposed to have a special evening at AK and there was a big thunderstorm warning so at the very last minute they moved everything to the CS ballroom. They had only a couple of hours to pull it off and they did a fabulous job.
Our group was not huge - about 1000 people.

In addition, I have also attended similiar functions (conferences, conventions) at:
Contemporary Resort
Peabody Hotel in Orlando
Bueana Vista Palace Resort & Spa (in DTD) - Now it is the Wyndham Palace I believe

So I have some perspective about CS in relation to those too.

I was at a conference at CS and it was first class all the way. Check in was a breeze - I even requested a room in the Cabanas section and got it while everyone else was in Casitas.

We had lunch served daily - it was delicious, even with several vegetarian selections available.

We had a reception at Epcot the first night - over by the Rose and Crown. It was wonderful.

CS was spotless and the grounds are gorgeous. I would stay there in a heartbeat - conference or no conference. There were lots of families there, and I was there in Sept which is a huge convention month.

I was an instructor at a large scrapbooking convention of over 700 people for the week. We used many meeting rooms and large ballrooms.

The large ballroom was broken down at 5 PM and reset for a banquet for the group in a little over an hour. The staff was very eager to please and came at a moments notice if you needed anything.

The only thing to be aware of is that it is a union hotel. Which means when you ship to the hotel you are charged a fee by the weight of the package. So we shipped all our stuff to our first night off site hotel and rented a car and came out ahead.

The staff made out very well with the tips when they moved all the stuff we had.

Yes I stayed at CSR but we left for another hotel because the cell phone reception was terrible. There were only certain spots where you could get reception. It wasn't just us because many people would be standing in the few spots that worked. If you are there on vacation that wouldn't be a problem but if you were trying to work the phone problem was terrible. We ended up going to my favorite off site hotel the Courtyard by Marriott in Little Lake Bryan and driving over in the morning for the convention.

If you have any more questions please ask.

We have attended a large convention the past three years and are returning again in November. Absolutely no complaints about CSR, and families love it. The pool is great, and the transportation is fantastic to and from from this resort.

Thanks guys! I'm forwarding on all your comments. Hopefully they can get this meeting booked so I can plan my days around it! :)

Any more comments you have would be appreciated. I need lots of ammunition to throw their way! ;)
