Help! Good hotel close to Universal!

We will be spending 3 nights at a hotel close to Universal before we head to WDW.

We would like a hotel that is:
-close to Universal, so we can walk, or a free shuttle to there
-pool
-continental breakfast, or kids eat free, or something cheap!
-under $100 a night

Can anyone give me suggestions? There are just so many to pick from, I would love some input!

I recommend the Sheraton Studio City with a high floor facing Universal Studios.
