Help Getting to WDW from Seattle

I'm in the same boat as you doodlebug, but we are going in June. Right now the best round-trip price I can find between Seattle and Orlando regardless of # of stops is $353 (for our dates in June) and that is on Alaska Airlines (and that is the non-stop flights 18 & 19). So unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) for those of us flying out of Seattle, price doesn't change much for us whether we fly non-stop or not, it is just expense anyway you go. I did several searches on kayak.com, mobissimo.com and sidestep.com and they all came up with the same price. And of course going to alaskaair.com, I found the same price directly through Alaska. I really hope Alaska has a sale soon, because I am anxious to buy our tickets. In the past we have always flown on Delta ot Orlando, but now with Alaska's non-stop service, we really, really want to fly them. Plus I have always had good luck flying Alaska in the past.

Heidica I just came upon those sites you mentions yesterday from my hubby out of the Consumer Reports magazine and the best I am down to is $284.00 but would have to add Monday on the end to get that price. Otherwise it's up over $300 still!! Guess since we are soooooooo far away we should have to pay more but just seems high!!

Doodlebug - we have flown out of Seattle to Orlando several times. Ditto what everyone here is saying about booking far in advance - I know that won't help you now- but maybe next time. If you go onto Orbitz look for the green tabs that say "my stuff". There is a "deal detector" option that will email you when the price of a flight drops to a certain level that you specify.

I booked our upcoming trip the end of March 330 days out. The price then was $280 and I haven't seen it change much at all. That is unusual since Alaska - in my experience used to have reduced fares at around the 90 day out mark. (I only booked out so far because we're using miles to upgrade to first class)

Well this is our first time going and we are avoiding the whole Disneyland Birthday thing this year because of crowds so thought WDW would be great... I am thinking that the $284.00 might be the best we are going to be able to get at this point

I would LOVE to book that far in advance, but the military prevents me from doing that. I'm so jealous. Right now I am at the 131 day mark for out trip and I will be lucky if my husband's leave gets approved before the 90 day mark. My husband is in the Coast Guard and they never approve leave several months ahead. And I have learned my lesson when it comes to buying airline tickets and not waiting for his leave to be approved. One time I went ahead and bought tickets, stupidly assuming that his leave would be approved, and it wasn't and I had to rearrange our whole trip and the money I lost changing the airline tickets was over $200, so I don't do that any more. His leave chit has to be signed and in my hand before I will buy airline tickets. Now stuff that I can reserve and then cancel without a penalty, I do as far ahead as I can. Like I already have reservations for SOG & AKL because I can always get my deposit back (as long as I cancel in time). Oh well, it could be worse, I could NOT be going to WDW.

Both Orbitz ($284) and Travelocity ($282) have reasonably-priced, 1-stop flights available for 4/9 thru 4/17 ... no need to add a day. The times/layovers seem reasonable. You might be able to get a few dollars off if you go directly to www.delta.com and seach for flights. Actually I just checked and flights through delta are $277 with 1000 frequent flyer miles.

I feel your pain. We've been flying from SEA to MCO every year or so and we've paid from $180 to $350 for each of us.

So in your experience the $282/$284 is a good rate for the time we want to go??? Thanks so much

Since you're getting closer by the day, I'd book now for $282/$284. If you had more time till you were leaving it would be cheaper but the closer you get the more it's going to go up. My sister travels a lot and said anytime you can go from Seattle to the east coast for under $250, you got a good rate. So I guess this is a pretty good rate!
Have fun and have a margarita in Mexico for me! I'll have one for you in July!

What about SWA? I pulled up some dates for you, and I saw $99 each way with one stop. Oops!! Never mind...sorry, I had the wrong dates. The cheapest is $182 each way.

Thanks guys I will have my hubby take a look and see if he wants to book so keep your fingers crossed!!

Well I thought we had missed our chance to go but I guess waiting finally paid off!!!! We booked our non stop flight via Alaska Airlines last night for a pretty good deal $266.00... :cool1: So we will be going to WDW 4/8 - 4/18. We do leave at 10:30pm on Thursday and will be flying thru the night and getting in really early on Friday but will spend that day just resting around the pool...   I am soooo excited!!

That's a really good rate for Alaska! Did you find it on their website or thru a travel agent? Have fun leaving our cool, rainy weather behind!

That is a great price! I'm glad that you finally found something! I've felt bad that I wasn't ever able to look for something for you at work. I'm still out of work for at least another 2 weeks.
Have a great time!

Oh no Carolyn I'm so sorry that you are still not better.... I didn't want to bother you in case you hadn't gone back

That's a pretty good rate - I've been watching Alaska since we booked our flight last summer. I don't think it's ever been any lower than that.

Keep watching the fare, ours went down about 4 weeks before we travelled in October, Alaska gave us a credit which we're using for a trip to DL in April!
