Since I have never been to WDW before I am wondering what a good airline rate is from Seattle to Orlando in April would be???? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!

Alaska Airlines has a nonstop. I think they are the only ones--but paying extra is worth your time--I grew up in central Washington and fly to Seattle all the time--Non stop is the best way to go, expecially going east.

Good Luck!! :cool1: :flower:

I reserved the Alaska Air nonstop (flts 18 & 19) for my trip in May and I got the tix for $284 each round trip. It does appear to be the only non-stop available from Sea-Tac to Orlando Intl.

I fly to the east coast a few times a year and the non-stop cuts so many hours of the travel time that I wish I could always get a non-stop going east. I'd suggest that you consider the extra time as an added value to the cost of the flight.

Right now airfare for April 2nd to 10th (for example) is $300 on American (1 stop) or $500 on Alaska (0 stops). We paid less than $300 for the Alaska flight, but I purchased the tickets more than six months ago. Southwest sometimes has good prices, but they are currently $400+ for flights with 1 stop. I have the best luck finding good fares on Wednesday. Good luck. Use orbitz, travelocity, or expedia to check out airfares. Once you find a flight that looks good, go to the airline's website directly and you might find the flight a few dollars cheaper.

Oh yes...forgot...I got airfare for my husband about three months ago (1 stop) and we paid $240 for a SEA to MCO flight on 4/6 returning 4/10.

When in April are you planning on going and how many people? I work in reservations for United(in Seattle even!) and would be happy to check prices out for you.
I got us tickets for July for 290.40 round trip changing in Denver both ways. It is FULLY REFUNDABLE.(I was amazed!)That is with my 20% discount. I think it was around 380.00 with out my discount.

We are wanting to go 4/9 - 4/17. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I have found great deals on everything but the airfare and if I can't find that we will be going to Disneyland again this year instead

Woof! I checked American Airlines for you and got $348.26 as the cheapest fare for those days. Try checking with a travel agent, that shouldn't cost you a dime extra and they might be able to get you a better fare. Good luck.

Instead of leaving and returning on a weekend, try leaving and returning on a weekday - this will usually lower fares. For example, 4/12 - 4/19 from sea to mco, flying on Frontier Airlines $222.30 (includes tax and fees). I know Frontier is not the most reputable Airline, but if the price is right it works. Keep checking prices, I paid $230 on Alaska for a direct flight in March - Good deals are out there! Good Luck ;)

Hey now! Wait a minute. I happen to love Frontier and have had nothing but good experiences with them. They are not considered a "major" or "legacy" airline, but they have been a very successful airline, and should not be called "not the most reputable".

A few facts:
  • Frontier has been in business for ten years with an impeccable safety record.
  • Frontier's maintenance department received the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Diamond Award (1999-2003). The award is the highest given by the FAA and recognizes advanced training for aircraft maintenance professionals throughout the industry. To receive the award, 25 percent of a company's aircraft maintenance technicians must complete certified training requirements beyond the technician's initial licensing. Frontier is the first airline to have 100 percent of eligible employees complete the aviation maintenance-training program, as it has for the past four years.
  • Condé Nast Traveler magazine recognized Frontier as one of readers' "Top 10 Domestic Airlines" in its 2004 Readers' Choice Awards.
  • Frontier currently operates a fleet of 47 aircraft including 34 132-passenger Airbus A319 jets, seven 114-passenger Airbus A318 jets, and six 136-passenger Boeing 737-300 jets.

Thanks guys!! I am going to keep digging and see what else I can find.. We really want to do the weekend to weekend to use less vacation time and have more actual time away but we might have to adjust!!

You may want to look into flying into Tampa. It'll take about an hour and fifteen minutes or so to get to the parks from there (there is construction on I-4, so you could get into some construction delays depending on the time of the day). A lot of times airfare is much cheaper into Tampa than Orlando. Of course, if you weren't planning on renting a car in Orlando, this could make the savings moot.

Boy those are some ugly prices for your travel dates Doodlebug. :sad1:

God luck finding some discount somewhere.

We have the Fare Watcher for Travelocity notify us for Orlando airfares. Last month American had a fare of $162 (one stop) Seattle to Orlando and that's what we got for our May trip. As mentioned before it's best to start checking rates at least 6 months out for your trip. I love flying the Alaska nonstop but hate to pay the premium rate!

Good Luck!

We are flying FIRST CLASS from SEA to MCO in December for free on Alaska Airlines.

We used credit card miles to purchase our coach tickets, then used Alaska Air Miles to upgrade to 1st Class. This is the first time we have ever flown 1st class! On a 5 or 6 hour flight, it sure is gonna be nice. :cool1:

It is definately worth paying the extra $ to fly non-stop. Its a long flight to begin with. Why make it longer with connecting flights. You only increase your chances of a delay, and that's the last thing you want when travelling to WDW.

Hi doodlebug I found you over here! I think you may want to consider some of what the other posters are telling you. These are people that travel alot and some work in the industry... good people! first off did you sign up for the automatic email notifications for rate deductions? You should do that for Mco and tampa. You might as well rent a car since the free WDW from MCO transportation won't be starting until May. A towncar will cost you about $120 with tips, not much more for a car. You might also want to look into the red-eye flights. They can sometimes be cheaper. Booking your car and air together can also save you some bucks at times. Non stop is best when you fly with kids, but one stop is bearable imo (as long as it isn't ATLANTA - ugh)

Okay I know this is a stupid question but how do I sign up to be notified of price drops?? I have looks all over on Alaska, SW, Expedia and a few others and see where they will let me enter my favorites but not to watch them???
