We are a family of 9 planning on visiting Seaworld in October. We really do not want to rent a car, besides the expense for one day, it has to be a large one at that because the amount of us. Was thinking about the Lynx Bus Service. Does anyone know about this and if you had used them before. I also heard a company called Mears but wondering if that is a better option.
Thanks for any info you guys may have for me

Hi,

Not sure where you are staying, but if on I-Drive, check the I-Drive trolley which passed Seaworld..

Otherwise, check the Lynx website (www.golynx.com) - there is a bus that runs from teh Disney area to downtown via Seaworld (route 50 I think).

What is the i-drive trolly? Is there a site you can direct me to with more information?

what hotel are you staying at? some have free shuttles to SeaWorld, others have a Mears bus that you can book.

We took a Disney bus from POP to MK, then the monorail to TTC. There is a Lynx bus stop at TTC. We took that to SeaWorld....EASY AS PIE! Really! It cost all of $2 each...

Now, on the way home...we were exhausted, & opted for a cab back to POP ($40)....

but I would do the lynx bus again in a heartbeat!

how long was the bus ride, I heard it is 2 hours?!?!?!?

Really? Only $2.00 with Lynx bus? Do they run all the time? We're going to be at BWV and that sure would save a lot of money, cuz we're going to SeaWorld at least twice. Thanks!

The 50 takes around 30 minutes from the TTC at MK, but also stops at the Downtown Disney Westside Transfer centre - the two hours may refer to the time to catch the WDW buses as well.

Buses run every 30 minutes from WDW from 6.30am to 11.00pm and from Seaworld to WDW every 30 minutes from 5.40am to 10.10pm.

The bus ride took us two hours but that includes our time on the disney bus system as well.

You need to have exact change for the bus. It takes a long time to load everyone on the bus because of the exact change thing.

The bus stop is not real close to the entrance.

There were seven of us and we took a cab home (POR) it was $25.

I heard or maybe read that if you request the stop to be to the SW entrance they will do that. Do you know if that's true or not?

We got dropped off as physically close as the bus could go without being on SeaWorld property. You still have to cross the entire parking lot. Compared to what you will walk while you are at SeaWorld it is a small walk.

If you do choose to take the lynx bus try to find out what time it leaves from the TTC. We were there for a long time while our bus was sitting around the corner just waiting for the right time to pick us up. It is not like Disney where they will dispatch more buses if the stop is full.

All make sure you have the correct change. The drivers machine has to SCAN each bill that goes through. If it is an older crumbled bill the machine might not accept it. Plus the machine wouldn't scan the new $5 so that had to be worked out too. Each group of people must enter the correct change into the drivers machine. Many groups just had $5 or worse yet $20 bills. It was a nightmare to work out. You might even what to carry extra change with you so you can help other passengers and therefore cutting your time down as the driver and passengers try to work out the whole change thing.

For those who have taken a cab from SW back to a Disney Resort, did you just walk out of SW and a cab was there waiting??? Or did you have to call a cab to come and get you?

TIA.

Yup. There is a big lineup of them. :thumbsup2

Just make sure you get one of the Disney regulated ones.

it's actually $1.75 per ride on the Lynx, and you get a 90 min free transfer.

We've used the Lynx bus many times over several years, and have never had a problem with it. :)

I would also like to add that it must be reliable enough, because many Disney CM's use it to get to/from work. :thumbsup2
