Help get me to Hoop de doo!

We'll be going the 6:15 showing of HDDR after a day at AK. The park closes @ 5 that day and there is a good possibility that we'll leave there and go straight to HDDR. We're going to be there on January 25, so hopefully we won't be dealing with heavy crowds waiting for buses. How much time should we allot to get there? What is the best/quickest way to get there? Also, what is the best way from POP, in case we leave the park early? What about getting back to POP after the show? Thanks for the input!

Hi. Easiest would be to leave AK and get on a bus to Fort Wilderness. You'll be dropped at the "Outpost" bus stop. From there, hop on a bus to "Settlement". You will have a short walk to Pioneer Hall for the Hoop De Doo from there.

To get back home, walk to the marina and take the boat to MK and a bus back to Pop.

Check with the CMs at the Hoop De Doo and ask about buses back to your report. With the old schedule, the last two shows of the night had buses directly back to all the resort (with some sharing). But that was when there was a 5:00 show, so I don't know what they do now.

See you around there! We'll be at Trail's End for a 6:15 dinner for DDs birthday! Her favorite restaurant. We'll be hanging around on the beach to watch Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant. If you hang later, you may be able to do the direct bus back to your resort when the later Hoop De Doo show lets out.

Thanks! That sounds easy enough. Tell me about the Electrical Parade. What time does it start and where do we need to watch it? I hadn't thought about doing that. We're really bummed that there will be not light parade in MK while we are there, so this might help ease the pain.

The electrical water parade goes between the four MK resorts (Poly, GF, CR, WL, FW) as well as MK itself. The exact time varies based on which resort. It is kind of neat, and we usually try to catch it once during each trip. IIRC, it's between 9p-10p depending on the resort.

The shortest way from AK to HDDR is to take a bus from AK to WL and then transfer to the FW bus. The FW bus from WL makes its first stop at Pioneer Hall. I would be at the AK bus stop no later than 4:45.

The best/shortest wat to get to HDDR, direct from POP, would be to get on a bus from POP to MK and then take the boat to FW. Allow at least 1 1/2 hours travel time.

Returning to POP after the show is easy. Disney provides buses, direct from Pioneer Hall to the resorts, after both the second and third shows. Keep in mind that you will have to share the bus with guests going to CBR and the EPCOT resorts.

A word of advice - they tell you to get to HDDR early but they will not open the doors until 6:15 on the dot. You don't want to be late, but you do not need to be there any earlier than 6pm. You will just end up standing around outside. The bus ride from the Outpost is about 15 minutes.
