Hi,
We are visiting WDW from Australia in May. I have noticed on the UK section of the boards that a lot of you seem to visit the outlets/malls whilst at WDW. I would love to do this when we come but have a few questions I hope someone can answer.

How far is it to Walmart and the outlets from WDW in a taxi?
Is it easy to get a taxi back from say Walmart once you are there, I'm worried about being stuck there and not able to get back to the hotel:eek:
Is it fairly safe around those areas?
Any suggestions on good shops/outlets to go to, and are there good bargains?

Thanks heaps:cutie:

last time we went to the outlets from pop in a taxi,it was about $20 each way plus tip:)
we always have a shopping day when we are there :thumbsup2

I think the nearest outlet mall is the Premium Outlets mall, which is a short way up the I-4 from Downtown Disney.

The best general mall for choice of shops is the Florida Mall. Not exactly an outlets mall, bur it is huge and offers a great choice of shops, a number of large department stores and a great food court :)
It's a bit further away then Premium Outlets so a taxi would be about $40 each way - there are always plenty out side the main entrance - or when you book your taxi from Pop (Disney use Mear's Yellow Cabs), ask for the drivers card so you can ring the same driver to pick you up.

When we visited the Florida Mall last December we booked a Towncar. That way we knew we were going to picked up at a certain time with a known a trusted company.

Try FLTours for towncar details:

thanks goofyish, thats a great tip about the fl tours company. The only thing is, do you have to book them in advance? Could we say ask the concierge ( we are staying concierge at the CR) to book them for us for the end of the week? Are they expensive for a trip to the florida mall? That sounds like something that I would rather do though seeing as you give them a time to pick u up so you know for sure you are safe and can get back ok. Thanks heaps for that!!!

Sorry, another question.....where is the closest Walmart to WDW as I looked up the Florida Mall and there isnt one there. I really want to go to walmart as they apparently sell nurses scrubs. Ta

I was going to post this earlier but thought it was a bit pricey but after seeing what taxi's cost (glad we have car rental) maybe its an option you might be interested in. Its a shoppers paradise tour approx 9.5hrs says You visit Florida Mall, Premium Outlet, and Walmart adn others but subject to change. $39 incl lunch, Pick up from Allstars Music resort.
I have used Viator before but not the other link or if you google gator tours shopper's paradise you might find more info.
Not done this tour but maybe someone elase has to tell you if its any good.
