We are seeing Varekai on the way to Disney - does anyone know how long the show is? Or about how long it would take to drive from St. Petersburg to Disney World? The show is at 4:00, so I think we can make a late dinner ressie. Any info, advice, or suggestions? Please!

We saw Varekai and the show was 2 hours and 3 minutes (which includes intermission).

Driving time from St. Petersburg to WDW is an hour and a half.

If you don't waste any time, you could see the show and get to Disney for 8 pm. Of course, you have to allot time in for traffic and getting to/from your car (both AFTER Varekai and allot time to park at Disney and then get to your actual dining location.)

You will love Varekai. The show is one of my favorites. As stated it would be tight but you could make it back to Disney by about 8pm. Most resturants in the resorts are open until 10pm so if you choose a hotel for dinner you should be fine. There is also dining along the way... There is a Melting Pot (Fondue) not far from the Sight, there is Maggianos (Italian), and PF Changs (Chinese) just as you get back into Tampa, the Spaghetti Warehouse in Ybor City, Applebees in Lakeland... there are great options on the way from the show sight to Disney. Hubby and I are going to Varekai on Dec 17th at 4pm and then over to the Lightning Hockey game at 7:30 the same night... Can't wait...

I have only been able to see La Nouba live but it just so happens that I am recuperating from some surgery and a couple of my dear EWP Suite mates sent me a DVD of Varekai. It was fantastic!!!!

I was taken with how many Russians are in the cast as I had always thought of La Cirque being French.

Have a great time and isn't it wonderful to have so many wonderful friends to help us through the hard times and give us so much useful advice?

I had the pleasure of working for Cirque du Soleil - Varekai when they were here in Houston at the first of this year. Say the least this show is just so awesome!!! You will have a GREAT time!!

I also worked Alegria when they were here a few years ago! Can't wait until Corteo comes in 2006, hope i can work for them again! ;) I was an usher, and probably saw each show about 30-40 times each! woo hoo!! I saw La Nouba with my family last December, and man was i blown away. It was cool seeing a resident show verses a traveling show. I'm so addicted to Cirque that i named my siamese cat Soleil..... :)

That's kind of all what I was thinking. We are losing most of a day at Disney to do this, so I've had to rearrange my ADR plan, and I wanted to get the Concourse Steakhouse done that night. I figured a 9 or 9:30 ressie would cover it, and we could see the electric water pageant while we were up there. Think it'll work?

--and I am soooo excited to see Varekai. I watched the show on Bravo a couple of years ago and I didn't think I'd get a chance to see it!

Blueangel, all that AND the EWP too!!! What more could a person ask for? Please give us a wave while you watch the parade from the beach. We have our own virtual suite and get to enjoy the sights every night, if only in our dreams.
