Hello everyone,
So I've been trying to comprehend this on my own, and then I tried that chat thing on the Disney website, but they just made me more confused! So my question is:
If I book under free dining now (and upgrade to deluxe dining), and I later change to a room only discount if it becomes available, will the dining plan still be attached to my reservation at full price? Or will it go away with the removal of the promotion? I understand my package would have to change with the promotion based on availability, but I just don't want to be stuck paying for a dining plan at full price since we wouldn't normally get it.
Thanks for your help, and I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense!

You would just need to tell them to remove your dining plan when you call to switch to a room discount. You would be required to pay full price for a dining plan if you switch to the room discount. You cannot use both and there is no way to switch it online.

I was hoping it was that simple, but I wasn't sure. Thanks!

Oh, and one more question: If we pass our 45 day mark, but a discount comes out after we paid, we can't apply a discount after that, can we?

They are allowed to charge you a $50 change fee at that point.

Great, thanks! I'm presuming they credit either your credit card or send you a check for the difference after the change fee? (I apologize for so many questions, but we've never faced such a dilemma in our trip planning!)

They'll return the difference in whatever form you originally paid.

The dining plan wouldn't have to be removed from your reservation per se but you would need to pay full price for it if you switched promo codes to a room rate discount.

Are you planning to still pay for the regular or counter service plan or are you going to drop the dining plan completely and go with a Room only reservation? Couldn't tell if you meant you wouldn't pay for the DxDDP or if you meant any plan in general.
