Hi everyone,

I've had two successful Disney trips with my family due to all of the great information on these boards - thank you! I am, by nature, a researcher and a planner. I had FP all figured out and it worked like a charm last time we went. But... I have been on these boards for over an hour tonight and still don't understand FP+. I don't have time to spend hours on this, so am hoping some kind souls will help me.

We'll be in Florida 4/14 - 4/19 and are planning on spending one day at Epcot. But... we don't know which day yet, may well "wing it" when we get there depending on crowd predictions. We are not buying tickets in advance.

So... a few questions. I'm gathering I can't make FP+ reservations in advance without a ticket? So what do I do? Download the app before arrival and try to make reservations when I arrive at Epcot? There are 5 in my party and as long as we ride TT and Soarin', we are happy. I don't mind getting there before RD and we plan to stay there all day.

I would be so grateful for any advice. Thank you! :)

Details, logistics of FP+ found HERE.

1. An advance FP+ plan would be a bit better in my opinion.
2. Correct.
3. I'd order my tickets right now, or at least soon (as "Will Call" pick-up,) choose a date and make FP+ reservations.
4. Yes, at least that.

Since it's not going to cost you anything extra to order you tickets now (as "Will Call" pick-up,)
and make your FP+ choices.

If you just DON'T WANT to do this, you'll still have a good time.
But, with 5 guests together, I'd want to book FP+ at least a week in advance.

You're correct, you can't make FP+ selections without a valid ticket linked to your MDE account. Is there a particular reason for not buying them in advance?

You have two options once the tickets are in hand and linked to your MDE account: make FP+ via the app/website or at a FP+ kiosk within the park itself. Epcot has tiered FP+ and you'll only be able to select Soarin' or Test Track, although it's difficult to get either of them day-of.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help. Reason for not buying the tickets now is primarily financial - have bill now for airfare, and just had an expensive car repair. Our last vacation (5 days of Disney) felt very "scheduled" and well it worked well, we'd like to "go with the flow" a bit more this time. We're only doing 1 day at Epcot, but just not sure when that day will be. But it's April vacation, so I'm guessing every day will be a very busy day. We're going to do LEGOLAND and beaches this time (we were just at Disney last summer), but my boys love EPCOT.

I can't do anything until 30 days out, so I guess that give me a few weeks to buy tickets and think about FP+ reservations.

Thanks again!
