I didn't know that you could use your MagicBand to enter! I thought you had to have the ticket! Is that true?
I'm curious if those who say not to enter before 4:00 have some specific cases where entering through the party entrance at 3:45 when it opens caused a problem. We did not have a problem with it last year.
But the person who entered before 4pm was using a Conference ticket for entry from 4pm on.Someone posted here recently that they used their magic band to enter shortly before 4 (at the urging of a CM) and it used a day off their regular ticket instead of the party ticket.
That's not to say it always happens like that. But the only way to assure it takes the party ticket instead is to use a party entrance after 4 PM.
Tapstiles is a funny term to me. Its actually "Touch Points".But the person who entered before 4pm was using a Conference ticket for entry from 4pm on.
No one has reported problems with party tickets as the tapstiles are set for party entrance only and usually open before 4:00.

This will be our first xmas party (first trip to WDW-lots of firsts). I am assuming it will be pretty packed in MK as people are trying to get their fix in before the park closes to non-party guests. We had planned to do a different park in the morning and head to MK around 6, is this a valid strategy or do we need to be in the park earlier (we have 2 full days dedicated for MK other than the party)?
Are you planning to meet any of the high demand Christmas characters?
I would actually suggest getting to the park as early as you can. We always enjoyed being deep into the park (usually enjoying a nice TS meal) as the 4 PM shuffle started.
Janet, characters are the last thing on our list for priorities-we are lucky to see so many at DL, but we might head over earlier now-thanks.
