We are going to visit some friends in Orlando this summer and want to do Blizzard Beach. We went to Typhoon Lagoon in May and loved it, but our 2 yr old went #2 in her swim diaper and it went everywhere!! She was sitting in her stroller and I pushed her into a handicap stall and was able to do an ok job of cleaning it up. I know next time to bring plastic bags--no one said they had any trash bags! Luckily the trash in the bathroom had just been changed so I just used that bag and they had extras underneath it. Anyway, my DH is hesitant to attempt it again until she is potty trained, and I'm working on it, but we have a 7 and 9 yr old who want to go. Do you all have any ideas? Thanks alot!!

We will also be taking our non potty trained 2 year old to the water parks this summer.

We used the swim diapers last summer and they worked well for us. However, for extra protection I was thinking of covering her swim diaper with a plastic diaper cover too.

This option may work for you also :-). Good luck!

I would use a swim diaper and a swimsuit over it! Use a bikini (easier to change ) and change her a couple of times while you are there. By then she may be telling you when she is going and you can actually put on a regular diaper so she can do her business and then change back into the swim diaper.

I think suzy is on to something. When my dd was a little over two she would go "#1" in the potty but for some reason not the other.

My family was in the proccess of a big move and I didn't want to make this an issue for her so we made a deal...... she could wear big girl panties all day but when she needed to go poop she would tell me and we would slip on a diaper until she was done.

This worked great! Not a single accident I can remember. Perhaps you have enough time to teach her to tell you when she needs to go. Maybe, like my dd, knowing she doesn't HAVE to use the potty will make it less stressful to learn.

It is amazing how lowering the stress level on this "milestone" makes it so much easier....we moved into our house right at her 3rd birthday, mentioned in passing one day that 3 year olds usually poop in the potty. Her response..."ok, then I will".....

This has worked twice for me (outta 10... lol) I asked my two year old to go poopy before we went to the zoo..... and she did.

If you know her cycle... I would give her some apple juice (or raisins) around the time she normally poops to get things going.... hang out for a while (outta the water) and heck even put a regular diaper on her.... Tell her she needs to poop before going back into the water.... See what happens....

Dont worry about it..... she is older now, it will be better!!!!

We are sloooooowly doing the potty training dance now too ;)

Pools in our area require a swim diaper AND plastic pants (the kind kids wore over diapers before diposables came out). You can buy them at Target and Wal-Mart, and I'm sure at other stores that carry baby stuff. Just check the size and weight chart and err on the side of too small if it's a close call. We've had no accidents or even big messes with this double protection.
