I'm looking for ideas for my daughter, Tink and Squirt's mom. They flew to Disneyworld on Thursday for a long-awaited dream vacation. The airlines lost my three-year-old grandson's bag! My daughter has not been able to find clothes for him in DW. He is a size 3T and even the Disney managers have told her that they only have infant and boys sizes. The size fours fall off of him! They did finally get three pair of underwear for him today when a very nice manager dug in the back room. He's only got two pairs of shorts and shirts with him. It's making for a difficult trip. He was only recently potty trained and of course all the fun and food is now showing on his clothes! They are there until the 31st and then leave on the Disney cruise. He needs more clothes!!! And my daughter wants nice clothes for family pictures on the cruise. The hotel conceirge has been unable to help. They don't have a car to go anywhere, there's no shuttle to a mall. What to do????? She has asked me to post this asking for ideas. She thought Feral Peg might have a thought. Thanks so much for any and all suggestions!

Order from a website (LLBean maybe?) that can offer overnight delivery via FedEx or UPS... have it delivered to the hotel. Problem solved.

There's a Walmart in Kissimmee about 10 minutes away on (I believe) route 535. It might be worth it for them to get a cab to take them there and they could at least get enough clothing for him to make themselves more comfortable.

Poor things! That must have been awful.

Take a taxi to the local mall or walmart....Or as the previous poster stated overnight from llbean or lands end...

Go over to the Premium Outlets, not a bad ride...no clue the price of a cab. But they have some great stores such as polo, hartstrings, stridrite. I got awesome deals on loafers for my daughter at Tod, bags of clothes at Hartstrings (much cheaper than up here) and plus there is a Strasburg (Perfect for the X-mas card that we always do at disney).

Shouldnt the airlines compensate them for the loss?? :confused3

They should, but I doubt it would happen fast enough to help them out right at the moment.

Downtown Disney!! I am quite sure there will be lots of clothes for toddlers for your grandson. I know they have some cause I shopped there when my son was 3 and bought him some clothes. Try DD first. Just take the Disney bus.

Yes, they will. Has anyone contacted them.

Can you buy him some things near you and overnight them to the hotel? Or someone who lives near their home go in, pick some of his things, and over night it?

World of Disney at DTD has LOTS of toddler clothing, etc. If the airline has not delivered the bag and it has been 48 hours then they will pay up to $300 for replacement clothing, etc.

They can get enough to hold them over at WOD and then take a cab to either one of the malls and do some fast shopping for the cruise.

Although the idea of a friend or relative overnighting some of his things from home was a great one.

Definately World of Disney at Down Town Disney. They have and entire room dedicated to infant and toddler clothing. I have a 4 year old and a 7 month old and we were there this past May and they had all sizes from 3 months to 5T.

This is exactly where I would go. It's not possible she won't find what she needs for him there. Walmart is not my favorite place, but that one is gigantic and well stocked.

I am kind of surprised that the hotel didn't offer the same suggestions that have been posted here...

There may not be a shuttle to a local mall or walmart but I am sure there must be some kind of taxi service that will take you there...

I had the same situation last year on vacation where the airline lost my daughters luggage..We just asked the taxi driver to stop off at the local walmart on the way to the hotel and problem solved...Not really fancy but at least she had something to wear and had a toothbrush and so forth...

A cab ride to the Wal-Mart nearby is about $15 each way. We just had to go there last week because my husband lost his glasses in the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon. Wal-Mart fit him right in for a contact examination that evening. The Wal-Mart is probably the cheapest option available. Even though all of the stuff at World of Disney is great, it could be pretty pricey to get everything he needs. Good Luck!

I agree about the Premium Outlet Mall. It is very close and lots of choices for quality clothing! A must stop even if you have all your clothes!

I hope they get this problem solved and he has clothes soon...

This brings up a point I just read about...when you pack put a few outfits for each person in each suitcase...incase the luggage gets lost...usually, when I pack, I fill a suitcase for each family member. I won't be doing this anymore!

Good luck and I hope they find the luggage...

Excellent point! I read about this when we went in 2003. Bugged the you know what out of my husband when I was moving clothes around- but when I told him why he thought it was a great idea.

Definately try DownTown Disney. Good luck with the airline!

Not mentioned yet, but there is a way to rent a car on property, just aske the front desk, hen we looked into i the cost was about $35 for a day for a compact or intermediate. They would then have the freedom to go wherever they needed. If they are quoted a really expensive price, have someone go online or call directly and book it there are usually discount codes on mousesavers. I also wonder if she did not want to miss vacation time if wegoshop.com would help out. I do not know if they would go to a store such as children's place where mom/or grandma could look on line and give a list of items to choose from. I know they would definately go to walmart and at least get underwear and socks in the requested sizes and I think their delivery charges are very reasonable. I also think the overnighting suggestion is good, grandma could then go to several stores in their area and pick from summer sale merchandise, leave the tags on and keep receipts and mom can return what they do not need or want when they return home. Things from the house are a great idea, except we do not maintain that much clothing for our DS because he grows fast. I usually purchase fewer of better quality things and there would not be much left over at the house after I packed for that long of a trip. Lands End usually has great overstock section this time of year and they will always overnight. I once even had them do it with a sat. delivery for a gift to reach a baby shower. I do think that ran me about $25 dollars.
