Well, just let them lead the way, have you bought any guide books? I guess that would be a great way to start. I am sure if you have gone many times then you have pictures, let them see them, go to WDW site and let them watch as much on there as you can..order the DVD...

The Guide to the Magic books that they sell are great for kids! They have information on each park, rides, fun things to do and hidden mickeys to look for. It would make a great gift for the kids now so they could prepare and get excited about what they will be seeing

Make sure that they KNOW they cannot see all of WDW in one trip.

Make sure they do NOT try to see all of WDW in one trip.

:)

Slow down. Enjoy the details. Let the KIDS decide what to see. Go with the flow.

Have them make a LONG list of things they would like to do and see. A list SOOOO long that they know they cannot possibly see or do it all. The biggest mistake people make is trying to do too much and forget to have FUN!

If the kids are Star Wars fans they should try to get picked for Jedi Training at HS.

Get to Tom Sawyers Island when it first opens and try to find a paint brush to get FP's to a ride in MK. Lots of people know about this so it is a contest. ;)

The Kim Possible "game" at EPCOT is supposed to be fun. We tried to do it last trip but the kids got sick and it was a no go.

Certainly they have to try Club Cool for the sodas at EPCOT. Make sure the parents know about the Beverly so they can watch the kids if the kids try it.

Our kids love going to Simba's Clubhouse. Good break for them and us. :rotfl: Our kids are in the same age range and the oldest is not sure if she wants to spend much time at Simba's anymore. I assume the Poly has a kids place like AKL.

The Pool. The Pool. The Pool. :) Do kids every tire of the pool. :confused3

We took our kids to ride the pony at Ft. Wilderness when they were younger. There is a weight limit for the ponies. I don't know if they have a horse ride over there or not. The boat ride over to Ft. Wilderness is very nice. And they might like the Hoop Dee Doo Review.

There is a Pirate Cruise the kids might like as well. We might try that this trip.

If the girl has ear rings you can pick an Oyster or two at Japan in EPCOT to get pearls which can be made into jewelry. I think there is a place in DTD that does something similar.

Later,
Dan

Go to the library and get every available guidebook. They can then buy which ever one they like the best. Since the info is basically the same, the year doesn't matter much. We have everyone list one ride/show/attraction for each park that they feel there trip will not be complete without. for them it would be 4 must do's per park. Everything else is a bonus. Early May is such a beautiful time at the World and not too crowded either. Since we always use the dining plan, We each pick one restaurant that our trip will not be complete without also. No complaints from the other family members (2 adults, and a now 7 year old). As everyone else has said, you cannot do it all in a week. But remember to slow down and enjoy the sights. Also, I am a big fan of taking the boat to MK and taking pictures of the kids faces when they first see the castle. It doesn't matter how old they are, there is nothing like the first sight of the castle

How fun! Is it everyone's first time or just your kids? We just took my 10 year old nephew last August (it was our first time bringing a kid, cause we don't have any of our own). He had never been to a theme park before, just water parks and the county fair, so he didn't really know what to expect-so he didn't really get overly excited until we got there!
Definitely plan on taking things slower. Even kids that old need a break in the middle of the day to rest, because of all the walking. Work your way up to the bigger rides. I honestly wouldn't do stuff like Tom Sawyer's Island (even though it is nice)- I found our nephew was way more into rides than some of the showier stuff. We did take in all the 3 D movies except Honey I Shrunk the Audience (ran out of time) and he really enjoyed them. And it was nice to be in the AC and sitting down. Definitely do pin trading. Our nephew got way into this! If you are making ADR's let them help! They are at an age where they want a voice. Every day while we were at the parks we would pull out the map and make a plan....first we are going to do this, next this ride, and then that ride, and then get a snack and plan from there. We made sure we incorporated something everyone wanted to do and he was very ok with this. The parks are overwhelming enough so don't bog them down with planning out your whole week or too many options. Definitely plan for pool time- we went once and he loved it so we tried to get back whenever we could after that!
Have fun, be flexible, but don't let the kids run the show! :woohoo:

The Kim Possible "game" at EPCOT is supposed to be fun. We tried to do it last trip but the kids got sick and it was a no go.

My kids are same age as yours and they loved KP adventures. Try to get each their own "Kimmunicator" so, they can have some independance. They are never very far apart so, you can keep an eye on them while they save the world.
have fun!

This is all great information!:thumbsup2

Does anyone know anything more about the Pirate Cruise that was mentioned??pirate:

Thank you!

My family and I will be at the POLY from May 2-8!!! My LOs are only 5 and 1 though!

The POLY has movies on the beachin the evenings (you can buy marshmallows to roast!), it's half way between GF and POLY

You can watch the torch lighting ceremony around 6pm...I think it's in the front of the POLY.

The Volcano pool is GREAT for kids, plus you can watch the fireworks over the MK!

Do you have the WDW videos? You can always order them. You can look up rides on YouTube.

There is SO much to do...it can certainly be overwhelming! If you get books, they will be able to let you know what they will like.

Also, look into Touringplans.com

HAVE FUN!!!:yay:
