I'm new to this board, but I figured I'd give you crafty gals and guys a shot. I have an old coffee table that I 'd like to rejuvenate. It's all light wood. I'd like to paint it in a black enamel or other gloss type finish and then put a piece of frosted glass/plexiglass on top to add color and protect it. I've seen frosted glass/plexi tops on furniture at hotels. It's opaque and has a milky-aqua color to it. I have had NO luck finding glass in the size I need (2'x4') for the table...at least nothing affordable, so I have been looking at paints and stuff for glass to give it that same look. I wa able to find a large piece of acrylic in the size I need. SO what can I paint over the acrylic sheet to make it look like a piece of frosted glass? I've seen Krylon frosted glass sprays, but that is a "clear" color and I'd like it to definitely have that light greenish/aqua thing I've seen.
So far I've found a thing called "Gallery Glass" by Plaid which is a stain that makes glass and plastic look like stained glass. I though I could do that and then cover with the clear frosted Krylon spray and then finish with a coating of Clear high gloss.
I am so uncrafty. Any help would be awesome.
