For my Dad. He said it was on a 45, from Sun records, probably in the mid 60's. All he knows is "Wall of Loneliness" he thinks was the title. Anyone??????

Try an old country song called Hello, Walls and for the life of me I cannot think of who sings it but I can hear it in my head now lol.

Darn that song isn't it- although he said he like that one LOL.

He only remembers it was mid 60's and on a Sun 45 record. He thought it was called Wall of lonelness. Anyone ... :confused3

Can you hum a few bars?
But seriously, does he remember any other words or if it was country western or pop? Any idea who the singer may have been, was it a group or a man?

Could it have been Sea of Heartbreak by Don Gibson:
If you Google "Sea of Heartbreak" you can download it, I don't know how to link or download, so I'm no help there. Hope he finds the song, I know how it is to have a song on your mind & can't find the title.

Did you check out mickey65's site suggestion? I just did, after I posted Sea of Heartbreak post & saw that there is a song called Walls of Loneliness apparently by Bobby Austin. I couldn't find the lyrics either. Seems he was a country western writer/singer.

I didn't think Sea of Heartbreak would be the one but since it had the word loneliness in it, I thought I suggest it, plus it's one of my favorites.

Yes I saw that too. I have been searching all nite :rolleyes1 I used that in teh search and cant find it anywhere else. I do think he said country and that he doesn't think it went on an album, just a 45, so that could be it.
If it is, I can't find it anywhere else :( to buy it. Even checked ebay :(
Thanks for your help tho !

could it be one of these?

I once stood in the darkness I couldn't see a light
Backed up against the wall I built around my life
I'd run out of reasons to ever love again
But somehow you found a door and you came waltzing in

(Chorus:)
Walls can fall, storms can end
Skys can clear, hearts can mend
All it took was your sweet love to rise above it all
You can build 'em strong and tall, but walls can fall

Here we stand together with stones enough to build
A bridge into forever beyond the highest hill
The past will fade behind us if we let the future shine
Not a thing can come between us if we always keep in mind that

(Repeat chorus)

You can build 'em strong and tall but walls can fall

or...

You've stolen my world from under me my cheating end deceving me
And now you've gone and set me free it's in my book of memories
Inside the book of pages black with photographs that take me back
I hide the dreams that used to be here in my book of memories

The photograph that shows a bride and a man with joy he could not hide
And one of a boy on his daddy's knee it's in my book of memories
Inside the book of pages black...

or...

Just follow the stairway
To this lonely world of mine
You'll find me waitin' here
In apartment number nine.

Not so very long ago
You walked away from me
And after all the plans we made
You decided to be free.

Chorus:
Loneliness surrounds me
Without your arms around me
And the sun will never shine
In apartment number nine.

--- Instrumental ---

I keep waitin' in this lonely room
Just in case you change your mind
You'll find me waitin' here
In apartment number nine.

Chorus:
Loneliness surrounds me
Without your arms around me
And the sun will never shine
In apartment number nine.

No, The sun will never shine
In apartment number nine...

This apartment #9 one was apparantly very popular and won a grammy...

just a few guesses let us know!! :sunny:

I will ask. I did already find Apt #9 and we'll see if thats it. What are the links to that 1st song & Name and artist?

Check out e-bay again, type in Bobby Austin, go down to about the 14th item "BOBBY AUSTIN "MY BOOK OF MEMORIES" 45 RPM. The flip side is "Wall of Loneliness". It's $4.00. Seller is "nohitters".

I bought it! Hopefully it is the one. The label isn't Sun, but maybe he is wrong on that.

Dad says I THINK SOME OF THE WORDS WERE "WHY SHOULD A MAN BE CONTENT TO BE"--AND THATS ALL I CAN REMEMBER. ???? I cant find those lyrics anywhere lol!
