I need help finding a sprayground near or in Burlington county NJ. I know I can find them in amusement parks but trying to spend less for admission and make DS happy cause he loves playing in the spray fountains. He had so much fun at the one in Storybookland but that is to far away and cost to much to go regulary.

There is one at Dorbrook Park in Monmouth County. I'm not sure if that is too far away for you, but it's free.

I have seen these and they are to far northern NJ for us to travel. Don't want DS having to travel in the car for so long everytime we want to go.

Have you been to the Children's Garden in Camden County? Not sure where you are located in NJ but it is near Gloucester. It is minimal to get into the park I think $5 or $6 dollars. And they have the suprise water fountains that shoot up from the ground on a large mat/play area. They also have a few kiddie rides like a small train that takes you on a scenic ride, a carousel- each for a $1 or $2 each
Also a really cool Butterfly Pavillion that is free but you can donate if you want. The butterflies are all around and even land on you at times. There is usually an educator there too the kids can ask questions and learn about them.

And there is also a maze type area with a few little slides.

It is right next to the Camden Aquarium. You can actually enter through and exit to the Aquarium. Or there is a separate entrace if you want to just go the Children's Garden.

We have been there a few times and my kids always love it! I like how low key and relaxing it is. There are also picnic benches if you pack a lunch.

ETA Here is the link for the website http://www.camdenchildrensgarden.org/

I don't know where you are in South Jersey and how far a trip it would be to Princeton but the Nassau Park shopping center on Rt 1 has sidewalk fountain outside the Panera. Lots of moms meet there with their kids. The kids play in the fountains and the moms enjoy hanging out. There are lots of tables to sit at and you don't have to patronize Paneras. It can't get much cheaper than free. There's a Target, Wegmans, Kohls and a bunch of other stores in the shopping center and a Walmart and Sam's club across the street so you could combine errands with fun.

Do you have a yard (or access to one?)? Why not get a few sprinklers for your son to play in? We didn't have a pool when I was a kid and no money for the waterpark, so if we weren't swimming at a local lake or river, I was playing in the sprinkler!

We live in Medford and don't want to travel more then 15-20 min with DS in the car.

We also live in an apartment complex so no yard for sprinklers.

It will be very limited if you only want to travel 15-20 minutes. You are looking at either Burlington or less, Mt. Holly, Maple Shade or even Southampton. Cherry Hill is out of your driving area.

Funplex may be the only option. There is a nice fountain at the Walt Whitman Arts Center in Camden --on the Rutgers Camden Campus . It is a very famous Peter Pan statue, reflecting pool.

Why not take him to Atsion Lake on RT206. It is like $5 week days
and there is a nice beach. Not a spray park, but it is a nice lake and it will cool him and you off. There isn't much elsewhere around Medford.

We have a pool here at the apartment complex he can use but wanted to take him to a place with the sprayers cause he really likes them. Sadly it seems they are all located to far away. Oh well. seems he will only be able to enjoy them a few times this summer instead or more regularly if there was one closer.

Took him to the shore today for the first time. Didn't care for the water but loved sand. :goodvibes

Hello ArielRae, I'm not sure how nearby any of these listings might be to you, but I've found the following sites very useful for finding playgrounds and spraygrounds, so much so that I make a point of adding new discoveries to the sites myself in the hopes someone else will enjoy them:

NJ Spraygrounds and Playgrounds

NJ Playgrounds

I'm looking, out of curiosity mostly, for listings of public fountains as well, some of which I know allow children to play in them (yes, really, one in Princeton comes to mind though officially it's not ok, everyone does) and this is all I found:

Fountains in the City

Maybe if enough people make a point of adding the fountains they know, it will be a useful site for NJ.

Even the links you provided show nothing but mostly north NJ.
Southern NJ has been forgotten about. :sad2:

They don't list the one place I do take him to Kid Junction in Mt Laurel, NJ.
They list the sister company in north NJ but not the southern one.

ArielRose, the information is user submitted, that's one reason to get the word out about them, so more people can add the places they know. (Full disclosure, I frequent a lot of sites like these, such as Garden Traveler.)

But I asked around and found this for you: Sprayground in Pine Lake Park in Manchester, NJ. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I'd have thought the boardwalks would have lots of them.

Thanks for looking for me.

Has anyone been to coco key or saharra SAMs? Are they priced well for a membership? Do you think my DS would like it?

I am in Marlton. Sahara Sams passes are reasonable if you go, 3 months is $65 & 6 months is $110, CocoKey is $99 for the year even better. Not sure about Sams but Coco key recommends you book, even annual passes, in advance so there is no guarantee of admittance if you just drop in. They both haves areas for the young ones but are mainly designed for older kids. My son who is 4 loves them both, but we have a pool and mainly go in the winter. The Funplex also opened the outdoor water attractions but we haven't done them yet but they do look fun.

DH looked into the funplex but the water area there is for only older kids, DS is too young.

We might consider doing one of the indoor watermarks this winter.
DH and I may have to drop DS with grandma and go take a look at them without him to pick one. :rolleyes1 :goodvibes

I'm not sure if you have any YMCAs near you, but mine here in PA is great. It has a splash pad you can use all year and a gigantic indoor/outdoor pool with four water slides. Also, gym, free kid classes, etc. We really get our $85/month out of it, plus we get $ back from our insurance for going to workout. We are sometimes there almost everyday of the week.
