We are trying to make reservations and the hotel is saying no more that 4. We have 3 young children plus mom and dad.......what do we do?

if you have a young child that will be sleeping in a port a crib I have found that if you call the hotel or chain directly they can book it with no problem.

We are a family of five too. Not all hotels have that rule though. It seems to depend on the hotel. I think Holiday Inns are a good bet usually for a family of five. (Kids stay free idea) It also depends on the age of the kids. They will usually allow two kids, two parents and an "infant" no problem.
The question you should ask is how long you are staying somewhere and how old the kids are. Do you really want to be in one hotel room with three kids for a week? We have been using condos/suites for the last few years as the kids get bigger and that works great. For a night or two a hotel room is fine, but more than that we are too on top of each other.

Besides not giving the ages of your children/people in your party, you don't say where you are staying--onsite or offsite. Disney onsite usually says 4 plus one child under 3 (infant). But some hotels offer you more people per room. The Contemporary, The Polynesian, The Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge (depending on room), Fort Wilderness Cabins, & Disney Vacation Club 1 bedroom properties (see about renting points) all offer 5 guests if you are onsite. You can also just go for two connecting rooms at a value resort. Can't really help you off site, since having children we no longer stay offsite.

Basically, if your kiddos are older, you'll have to switch hotels, get two connecting rooms, or go to a condo type property. Unfortunately, you can't change hotel policy, just have to work within it.

:earboy2: We were a family of 5, now we have 7. Before the twins, we stayed at Port Orleans. That hotel offers a trundle bed for the 5th child. It was crowded, but we never minded. We are not in the room often. It is true that if your one child is an infant, they can stay in a port a crib in the room with the other 4 people. We now do 2 rooms, either at a value or moderate, depending on the rate we get. I love staying on site, so we would not stay off site. I have heard on the boards that the FW cabins are very nice, but I also do not cook on vacation, so the idea of the kitchen doesn't appeal to me. We have found the suites at Dis hotels to be more expensive than getting 2 rooms in a value or mod. But that is up to your budget. Hope that helps. :Pinkbounc We will be in Dis in 11 days :Pinkbounc
