hi I posted on this about 3 months ago, but I am still having this problem. I Need a side by side preferably that will hold a 42" child, weight is not an issue she is small that way. We tried the jeep side by side and although she can sit in it fine, if her feet were to fall off the footrest they'd drag on the ground. I am going this all on my own with the two little girls so I need something easy for me to take on and off a bus from POR which I why I was thinking the side by side would be best the tandem's she fits into great but they are too heavy for me to get on and off, I know they make a lightweight version, but still I just think its too big and suck for me to carry and still hold my little ones hands, you know? I know someone on here had posted they were trying a certain side by side way back in October but I never heard back on how it worked her son was even taller than my dd. if you know who this was or have experience with putting an older child in a side by side please POST back we leave feb. 1st and I have to find something soon so it has time to ship. thanks soooooooo much!!

Have you thought about the kind that have a downstairs/upstairs look. The front seat is lower and the back seat is higher?

We have the Combi Twin Savvy and I love it. Unfortunately it is expensive. We have had ours for 3 years and it has survived many, many trips to local amusement parks as well as one trip to Disney World. I took all 3 of my kids (2, 4 & 6) in July by myself. In July my 2 yo was 26 lbs & 34", my 4 yo 33 lbs & 40.5" and my 6 yo 44 lbs & 43.5". They all took turns in the stroller. One walked for awhile while the other 2 rode in the stroller. Then they switched. The older two kids must keep their feet up on the footrest or they drag on the groud & get caught up in the wheels. This was not a problem. They knew their feet needed to stay up and they kept them up.

I really like the Combi Twin Savvy because it is really lightweight and folds up tiny, like an umbrella stroller. It has an over the shoulder carry strap which makes it easy to carry. I had no problems getting it on & off the busses at Disney.

We have also owned the Kolcraft side-by-side umbrella stroller and I hated it. It was very hard to push. Also have the Graco DuoRider which I really like but it would be a pain to drag on and off of Disney busses. Also had a Baby Trend Caravan Lite, which weighed a ton and was super hard to pick up. I also have a variety of single strollers but you didn't ask about those ;)

As the mom of twins, DON'T get a side by side stroller-you will be cursing the thing by the time your trip is done. They are wide and don't fit trough things like doorways very well. If you are doing any shopping, they won't fit in the store asiles. The newer double strollers are not that heavy, but they are bulky. I would look into one of those sit/stand type strollers. They have a seat up front for a child and a ledge to stand on in the back as well as a place to sit for an older child. It would be MUCH easier to use something like this for an older child that is getting in and out a lot to see characters, go on rides, etc. Here is a link to a picture of one. It has a nice BIG basket, too.

My oldest DS5 has walked the entire time on our last two trips. In March I brought a stroller for him and did not ever use it. You might consider just bringing a single stroller and letting her walk. It is much easier to get on and off the buses etc. You could always rent a stroller in the park one day if she is really tired.

The main reason I want her in a stroller is for safety she will walk beside me, also we will be gone two weeks which might be a lot harder on her otherwise:-) being alone I need to keep track of them. I will check out the strollers mentioned! bellebeautyandthebeast sounds the closest to my situation! thanks everyone and would love to hear more!

I have made it through every doorway that I have tried. But at Disney there are few doorways that you need to worry about. Most of the time you are just pushing the stroller outside. Most attractions have you park the stroller outside. Which is also what I did whenever we ate, except at the food court at Pop Century. I pushed the stroller inside and folded it up and put it in the corner next to the table. The stroller is easy to push, in my opinion. We will be bringing it back in March for another trip!

$239 is a good price. I paid $250 (plus shipping) for mine 3 years ago and I thought that was cheap then.

golfgal that stroller looks nice too, but won't my older one want to look around and such and not sit backwards? my other question is how small do these type fold? besides the bus fact, I will have to be able to transport this along with two suitcases, carryon's etc. in my grandparents car? us three will take up the whole backseat! Otherwise i've always thought the sit and stands looked really neat!

I guess I am not sure how small they fold, but I am guessing the same as a regular stroller. It would depend on the trunk of the car as to whether it will fit or not. We could always fit our double stroller in DH's old Toyota Corolla putting bags on the sides and top of the stroller.

The nice thing about this kind of stroller is she can sit or stand either way. Our oldest was almost 3 when our twins came along and every time we went to the mall or anywhere, he would stand on the back of the stroller and ride. I wished I had something like this for him then. I think it would be much easier in your situation to use something like this then a double side/side. We had a large double front/back and when it was folded, it wasn't very wide, but it was a bit longer then a regular stroller.

The other option would be to rent a stroller for your stay from the park itself. I have read that you can get a voucher for a stroller from the park, paying in advance for your entire stay. It was MUCH less then $250 (I think I read a week was in the $60 range). That way, you wouldn't have to worry about transporting it and when you move to the different parks, you just leave the one you were using and pick up a new one at the next park. I would consider this if my kids were young enough for a stroller.

Graco duo rider-it's been through 30+ trips, had it since our now 5 and 6 year old girls were born. It's a double wide but it's light and narrow and fits through any normal door. I've used it with the girls in EPCOT when my husband was stuck in Gaylord Palms all day at a conference and I felt very confident about it. I think I paid about 90 dollars for it new...

Here's a link and a good place to compare:
