Hi Kell-Bell,
I blame jet-lag, but I can't seem to get going today. I've seen the children off to school, DH off to work...and I went back to bed! (my only day off work this week). Yup, the sun's just come out.
I truly, truly wasn't going to have a tantrum (I've read the other boards from others who are amazed at the number of parents shouting at their kids). Well that's not me; I just got huffy with DH, and burst into tears. So that's all right then. Our first day at US was fine; made good use of express passes, scared the 5 & 9 year old stupid on Jaws (honest guv. I didn't know they'd be THAT freaked!), but MIB was booked solid, and I did promise DH we'd go back a 2nd day. Anyhow, that 2nd day, we ended up with the stuff DD couldn't do, or didn't want to do, so I ended up looking after her. I went on 2 rides in 5 hours! On it's own that was ok, as I didn't particularly want to do MIB, Terminator or whatever, but Fieval's Playground wears a bit thin after a while! So DH's suggestion to go to IOA mid-afternoon did not go down well! Oh, just to add to this less than perfect day...DH had been going on about our late nights, eating late and the effect on the kids - so because we left US early that day I thought "great! We can go to the Boardwalk for an early evening stroll and dinner. Make up for this afternoon". Could I get the children and DH out of the hotel pool, and then the hotel? No. We got to Boardwalk about 8.30pm, by which time the restaurants were full, the children miserable because they were hungry, and we ended up at our least favourite (but cheapest) restaurant back at the hotel, where it took half an hour to get 1 pizza and a piece of chicken/fries. Cue another tantrum. I'm sorry guys, I admit I could not maintain that Disney magic that day, like I'm supposed to according to messages I've been reading... but that was only 1 day out of 12, so that's not bad!
I've just thought - you're going in November, so you should have no problems with queues. Have a great time! Now I really should be getting on with finishing the unpacking, washing, ironing etc...
