Help, does anyone drink coffee and know what to do with this?

I rarely drink normal coffee and I sometimes heat milk in the microwave and add chocolate or instant mocha...so DH ordered me this for Christmas...I don't want to start a coffee habit and I am not sure what to do with it or if I should return it :confused3

Oh, my, that does look heavy duty. I can only handle decaf coffee and I only like flavored coffees (whimp) so I am not sure I would keep that one....but, I am not sure too many people would tell you to return a gift from DH! How would he react if you returned his gift?? :goodvibes

That is an espresso machine. If you aren't into coffee though, you probably won't use it much. They are kind of a pain to clean.

My DH is more than o.k. if I return it. A few times I have bought him things for one of his hobbies and he has returned them....which was o.k. with me, I rather he get the one he wants. Thank you for the comment on cleaning the machine....I enjoy things that are child proof and dishwasher safe :teeth:

Hmmm... The espresso part isn't that hard to clean really; just a quick rinse. The hard part to clean is the part that froths the milk.

My best advice is to pack it up immediately and send it my way! I already have a bad coffee habit, and this might be just the thing I need to keep it going in style! :-)

Maybe it's just me? Between the grinding and pressing, I tend to get coffee grounds everywhere when I use mine. I can drive down to Peet's and buy one in half the time it takes me to set up the machine and clean up the aftermath. :teeth:

I drink a ton of coffee and I not sure I would want the up keep that machine looks like it would take.

Take it back, it is more trouble than its worth, especially if you are not a big time coffee drinker. Mine is sitting in the cabinet waiting for a garage sale. One thing you might like tho(and I love mine) is a machine called a Choco-Latte machine. It is super easy to use. Most of the recipes use milk and instant coffee, chocolate syrup. Yummy!! Also makes hot instant tea.

Hmmm.....I've never heard of this one.....thanks for the info!

It's good that DH is OK with the return.....wouldn't want hurt feelings!

Is the milk frother a stainless steel arm that comes out?

If so, thats easy to clean. You just use a cloth.. with the steam from the arm and clean it with that.

These are not uncommon at all in the UK and make great cappucino, expressos and lattes.. It depends on whether you think you will use it. If not, then return it!

 :faint: I don't think so...and I would definetly remember having a third child :earseek: or, are you 3 1/2 years old :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

After reading all the comments from everyone, I am returning the machine to the store. I know I won't use it often, if at all, and I can't see wasting $ and kitchen space on something I won't enjoy. I don't think my DH will be upset...I hope he is correct about the return policy :teeth:

Mom's returning her's, too. :teeth:
