We've never used either DME or a limo/towncar service before - always either driven from home or gotten a great rental car deal. We'll be arriving Dec 27 around 9:30 a.m. Also, we're bringing another family with us for the first time so we'll have a total of 9 - 4 adults/5 kids. With renting a car, we're used to being on our own schedule but a car rental seems out of the question with currently super high rates and the fact that we'd need two cars - one minivan wouldn't even hold us. Since it's the big holiday week, we'd like to get in as much park time that first day as possible. What's our best bet for that scenario?? Really appreciate any opinions!

I would just use DME with a party that size, you don't have to worry about your bags so you save some time there. IMHO its so nice to just walk to ythe DME area and board the bus, check in, hit the parks/pool/ DTD and then return later to find our bags in the room !!

My average time from touchdown to resort via DME is about 70 minutes - my longest was 90. My average time with a towncar have never been less than 60 minutes even with a quick luggage turnaround.

A limo/towncar for a party that size would run close to 200 plus tip and save you maybe 30 minutes each way.

For me it would come down to budget. If I could afford it I would so it.

I do think at such a busy time I would avoid ME because even though the travel time can be simple-I have waited an hour on line to get on the bus.(hence my last time on DME).
I would consider 1-2 TC or even 1-2 van taxis.
You could always rent a car onsite and just go for 2 compacts. Check out all car companies. Even the ones that are near DTD. The busses will be packed-so either be willing to pay for the car or be willing to pay in time.

Either way have a great trip.

Never have waited more than 20 mins for DME and we took it six of our disney trips.

ME rocks.;)
