Help. DL Virgin.

I maybe going to DL instead of WDW but never been to DL. I dont know anything zero zip zilch nada. What airport? (Harrisburg pa)How to get from airport to hotel ? and any other advice you can give me. Also I have Aps for WDW because of how often we go down. But this will probably be the only time we go to DL is aps worth it any special perks in the parks?

As far as airports to fly into, you can fly into either LAX, John Wayne or Long Beach. I prefer to fly into Long Beach. The flights are sometimes cheaper than John Wayne and LAX. Also, it's closer than LAX.

I believe there is a charter bus you can ride to get to and from the airport if you fly into LAX. When we've flown into Long Beach, I've just had a town car waiting to take us to our hotel. You can check out http://www.supershuttle.com or http://www.primetimeshuttle.com/ to check our transportation rates. There are lots of other shuttles/car services you can use, but those are the only 2 I have ever used.

I'm not sure if buying a AP is a good idea or not. I think it would really depend on how long you are going to be there and what time of year.

I always fly to/from Burbank for anywhere in Southern California. So does DB - who is actually flying into Burbank on the 27th so we can go to DL.

It's not as big, or popular, as LAX, but sooo much nicer because of that! It's small, easy to find your way in/out, and not very busy at ALL.

However, certain airlines may charge more or less if you're not flying into the "common" airport - LAX - so check it out!

if youre not going to rent a car, you can use the train from these airports.

burbank airport has a train station stop in front of it, and amtrak.metrolink run into anaheim.

lax airport has a shuttle called Flyaway that will get you to union station in downtown la and from there can take train to anaheim.

john wayne airport is nearest to anaheim, but ive never used it.

I just saw your thread, we are flying out of harrisburg sometime this summer- going to disneyland on the way to hawaii (hopefully ) we are from Carlisle!!!! Great question. We have never been to Disneyland either.

when are you thinking about going? I cannot decide which airport to fly into either then we need to pick a hotel decisions, decisions.

An AP will give you a 10 percent discount on food. If you get the top of the line, most ex*****ve one, you get 15 percent off food and 10 percent on merchandise. You can also get an AP rate at the DLR hotels too, how much depends on various factors.

My guess it isn't worth it unless you got an amazing deal at the hotel with it. When you work out the 10 percent discount on what you would probably spend on food it probably won't pay for the difference in price between park hoppers and the AP.
