Hi all, hoping you can help me out. We are staying at the Poly the night before our cruise in January. I haven't made an ADR for dinner that night :confused3 (because it didn't occur to me before now!) and would like suggestions from everyone. We don't want to pay for a park admission, so the restuarants in the parks are out, and we won't be on the DDP, so that won't factor in our decision either.

We did the Cali Grill on our August visit and while we liked it, want to try something new this trip.

Any and all suggestions are welcome! Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

We enjoy Boatwrights, which is located at POR, so you won't need a park ticket.

Since you're staying at the Poly, I definately suggest 'Ohana!! I can't WAIT to go back! :thumbsup2

I can tell you the ones we did at a resort and our experience. SO here come sthe good the bad and the ugly!!!

The good: WE dined at Narcoosees this one is located in the Grand Floridain and MY favorite!!! The atmosphere was lovely. The food was great, the view of the MK fireworks were splendid as well as the water show. :thumbsup2

WE also dined at Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness lodge for a fun night it ws perfect. Food is not very impressive but thats not say it was not good. DS and DH loved it! One of their top 2 !

THe bad: Boatwrights , I was very dispaoointed I love cajun food and this was a huge let down and the service was sad and the time of night there was only one other table. No wonder it was not hard to get in! No wow factor what so ever!

The UGly: Yachtsman Steakhouse: This was a mess from begining to end! IT was HD's birthday dinner and the service was very good once again should have taken notice there was only 2 other tables with guests and it was 7pm. Thought we just got lucky! No theres a reason CM on the dining line always suggest this palce for ADRs they always have an opening! OK, so that being said what a mess Dhs steak was 80% grizzle and looked down at mine it I could not believe my eyes more fat than his!!! For the $ I expect a steakhouse to have quality steak! Enough of that now!

Cape May Buffet: WE went to the Character meal there and have no epxereince with dinner. The atmosphere was lovely though.

OK enough out of me Good Luck please come back and tell us your dining review will look forward to it!

Speaking of WL, we enjoyed Artist's Point, they had a wonderful mushroom soup. We ate early, before the rush, for our first nite at WDW. My son enjoyed the boat ride, and it didn't take too long.
If you have kids, Chef Mickey's might be a way to start your trip off with a bang!

Thanks for the suggestions! Keep them coming! :thumbsup2

We will be going to WDW for April vacation (yes, we're hooked, why do you ask? :rotfl: ) and staying at WL, so will be doing Whispering Canyon and Artist Point then....but it's good to see them recommended!

I would choose 'Ohana for a great meal and fantastic view of the MK fireworks!
