HELP... DH wants to stay at CSR and I don't...

Someone PLEASE tell me some great things about CSR. I've been looking at my books and watching my WDW DVD but I just don't get that feeling about CSR as I do about staying at AKL! The rooms don't look all that great to me and I don't know. I know there are a lot of people on the DIS that love CSR so I'm hoping you all we tell me some great things about it? My DH main reason for wanting to stay thee is the Pepper Market. Is it worth staying there for 2 weeks?
I mean I have already booked the Poly for our trip and if you can believe it DH still wants to stay at CSR. I was thinking about spliting our stay but don't really want to. HELP me PLEASE!!!!

I really think, as a compromise you should consider splitting the stay. it really isn't hard to move and your husband will get his wish and you will have a whole week at the Polynesian. CSR is a great place. It is colorful with wide open vistas across the lake. The three themes are each done up nicely and the rooms are comfortable. I will tell you that I took My mother and father ( in there 70's) and my sister to visit here and Dad liked it but my Mom and Sister didn't. But they both would rather stay there than off property. I like Pepper market but don't think I would stay at CSR for 2 weeks just because of it. Try a few days there and then move over to the Polynesian. You will get to experiance a new resort, please you husband and have the Polynesian to look forward too.

I felt the very same way. DH wanted to stay there so I finally gave in. And am I glad I did! It is a wonderful resort--my favorite of the moderates. We're DVC members, so when we don't want to use our points (or have none left to use) we'll stay at CSR from now on.

Since you're really not sure then I'd recommend splitting your stay. That way, everyone is happy.

I would split your stay, if possible. I normally wouldn't do that, but since your husband is adamant about staying at the CSR, splitting your stay might not be such a bad idea. I stayed at the CSR last May and I loved it. I wasn't too keen on the Pepper Market system, but the food was really good, most of the time. The grounds of the resort are spectacular, too. Very romantic, with a lot of activities available, too. If you have kids, there's plenty for them to do, as well. Whatever you choose to do, have a great time!

I agree with splitting your stay. That way you both get to stay where you want and you can use the money you save by staying at CSR to do something special while you're there, maybe a special dinner or parasailing or tubing.

You can't really compare AKL to CSR because one is a deluxe and one is a moderate. But as far as the moderates go, the more I see of CSR, the more I like it. We've eaten at the Pepper Market and Maya Grill and enjoyed them both. The pool at CSR definitely looks more interesting than the pool at AKL.
