I really would like to have the warm weather??? I am upset because I felt like August was still summer and now I feel like it will be dreary and cold in October, can anyone help me on this one???? Thanks guys. We are taking our 2 yo ds on his first trip.

I love it in October b/c it isn't too cold or too hot --- we wore shorts most of the time we were down there last October...

Plus with October you can attend MNSSHP AND the Food and Wine Festival!!!!

I think it is my favorite time at Disney - HEHE

Have fun!

I am interested as well. I plan on going the first week of October, and in the past I have always went in May. ::MickeyMo

We were there around Oct. 1st last year and it was wonderful. We spent a day at TL and it was perfect weather! MNSCHP was fun. It was a a great time to go, I'm doing it again!

This may end up being a blessing in disguise for you, especially having a little one because it is less crowded and not as HOT!!!
The weather in October is as close to perfect as you can get in Florida-it isn't as hot and muggy as it would be in August. You should probably pack shorts (maybe one pair of jeans just in case) anyway, but the humidity is not as high, and there's a breeze, so it's comfortable. Also, because school is in throughout October, the crowds aren't as big as they are during the summer. Plus, you may be able to attend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.
Have a great time!!!

We love October! Our anniversary is October 1st and most of our trips have been in the fall somewhere around our anniversary or one of our birthdays (me in Sept and DH on Halloween). As mentioned, the Food and Wine Festival is great as is MNSSHP. Its usually been warm enough to hit the water parks during the day. I do like to have a light sweater along for night time just in case, but for the most part it is still "summery" to me. I think you'll have a great time! Have fun!

We love October. The weather is perfect. The lines are generally not too long (only on Sat & Sun). Two of the drawbacks are shorter park hours and Spectromagic and Fireworks only on select nights (Sat) unless you do MNSSHP (fireworks), but with younger kids that may be a blessing. We're goint the 3rd through the 11th!!!!

Early October (or any part for that matter) is great at WDW. The temps are down slightly from their summer highs and its comfortable to walk around the parks without sweating profusely. Crowds are relatively light. And the best part is the Food & Wine festival at Epcot, which starts in early October.

We are going in October this year for DS's 6th birthday and MNSSHP. I can't wait! The weather should still be warm but nothing like July.

We were at WDW last year in November and it was nice and pleasant then. The kids needed sweatshirts in the morning but by 10:00am they took them off and put them away.

We'll be there 10/10 - 10/14. I was at WDW one time before in October...it was great!!

See you all in October!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be there the last week of October. We went in October 2003 as well. We really enjoyed it, the weather was great. The only drawback was the shorter hours at the parks.

We changed from August to October too and I'm so happy. I don't know what we were thinking about! Thanks goodness one hot day here slapped the sense back into me. October, IMO, is the best time of year. We will be going to MNSSHP for the first time and I can't wait! Have fun

This will be the 7th year in a row that my family has gone in October. It is our favorite time to go. The weather is warm enough to swim and hit the water parks, but it is not anything like it is in July and August. The crowds are OK. A lot of schools have fall breaks and it can get crowded, but it is not bad. Plus, you can go to Mickey's Not So Scarry Halloween Party. You have to go. Take costumes for your kids. Tickets are on sale now. This is a halloween party that is from about 7PM-12AM a couple of nights a week. Stations are set up throughout the park where you can trick-or-treat. All the rides are open. The Jungle Cruise is pretty cool at night. You also get a complimentary photo of your group. There is a special Halloween parade. It's fabulous. We wouldn't miss it.
