We are traveling to Disney in October and currently have reservations a AoA LM, but if FD is offered, but not for LM we will be switching resorts :sad1::) (mixed feelings)

We have been to Disney one other time in December and stayed at POP, we really liked it there, but were thinking it might be fun to try Movies instead. Since we've been to POP, we've already seen the decor, but it also means we know our way around and know we like it. It also would mean that we could (more easily) explore AoA.

I don't know what to do. Really sad that LM probably won't have FD.

We've stayed at both and love both. We are doing ASMo next just because we did Pop last time. Both have GREAT theming and I think both are easy to get around. Personally I think ASMo may be easier to get around.

But, now that AoA is open, I want to change to Pop just to have the convenience of being able to visit AoA. On the other hand, if you stay at ASMo, you could take 2 buses there, or even a cab, since there isn't much more to do than eat there and walk around. (not supposed to use the pools)

AoA was not excluded in the PIN for FD that many got. In fact, AoA was the only resort that had a the suites included in the FD offer. What are your dates and I can tell you if the dates were in the PIN - it is often exactly what gets offered to the general public.

I have stayed at ASM, and while the room was nice, I was not impressed with the food court. Maybe I was just spoiled as I had always stayed at CBR before. This year I am going to try POP as it seems to have a huge fan club, and I hear good things about it's food court...but I would be ok with ASM, just as long as I got to stay at WDW!

Loved ASMo but we are trying POP this time around (just for something different for the kids).

The themeing at ASMo is awesome. The kids loved the Dalmations & Toy story themes.

I don't think you can go wrong with either place (I was alot of help, wasn't I???:rotfl:)

Pop! Pop! Pop! :hippie:

Big love for Pop...theme, food court, and buses! I vote POP! :lmao:

I just stayed at all star movies for the first time a couple weeks ago. I didn't like it. I have stayed at pop and loved it there though. I really don't think i'd stay at asm again. I had even paid for a preferred room and I was a few steps away from the standard rooms. That can happen anywhere, but we just didn't like the feel of the resort. Maybe it was cheap, or older, I don't know.

We really liked Pop and I would be very happy to return. You could stay at Pop and request a lake view so you'd have a view of AOA.

When we were at Pop last year, we took a nice evening walk along the lake and went onto the (then blocked off) bridge. I think you could easily walk to the AOA food court.

We prefer Pop, because it doesn't share a bus, or at least it didn't last time we were there, and because we love the themeing. We also prefer their food court. But ASMo is a great resort, so I don't think you can go wrong either way! :) Have a great vacation!!

It has been (unofficial/rumor) released that FD will go out to general public 7/12 and LM rooms are NOT included because they booked up with the PIN offer/people paying rack rate.

We are in same boat. Booked LM room, even changed dates from 11/3-10 to 11/1-10 in anticipation of FD based on the PIN offers being indicative of general public offer.

I just ran some preliminary #s, and here is what I am coming up with:
(We are currently booked 9 nights in a LM room w/ DD & 9 day base ticket)

Switching to family suite @ AoA(and then paying to upgrade from QD to DD)= ADD $928
Switching to 2 connecting rooms @ POP (again pay to upgrade plan)= SAVE $273
Switching to ASMu Family Suite (again pay to upgrade dining) = ADD $430
Switching to CBR PIRATE ROOM= SAVE $146
Switching to POFQ or POR= SAVE $450
Switching to CSR= SAVE $399

We are super excited to stay at AoA, and specifically the LM rooms, but I can not justifying paying MORE for ONE value room than I would pay for 2 connecting rooms, or a mod (Especially since we are also doing a cruise directly from our WDW trip!).

We stayed at ASMo in March and loved it. We were in a Toy Story room very close to the playground, pool and food court. We liked the food and felt the room was very clean. We have never stayed at Pop but we hope to as some point as I really want to try out all the different resorts.

All-Star Movies, hands down. I like Pop also, but you just can't beat the Disney theming of All-Star Movies. When we were there last year they had just refurbished the rooms and they looked GREAT. Also, we have stayed at All-Star Movies a number of times and have hardly every "shared" a bus - just a few times at park closing and it really wasn't a big deal as the All-Stars are literally right next to each other. Really no differenty than the multiple bus stops in the larger resorts. Just thinking of the Fantasia pool makes me smile :-)

Sorry, but I think the walk is only 10 minutes, but I guess us Brits walk faster :rotfl2:

We were planning on staying at AoA too, but now are changing our plans for the same reason. I am 99% sure we're going to go for ASMo b/c my youngest is a Toy Story fanatic. We stayed a Pop last time, and while it was fun, I think the themeing at ASMo is much more our thing. Plus, I think it will be fun to try something different.

I was looking at pics from the Movies thread last night, and looked at some from Pop this morning, and theme-wise, there is just no comparison.

We've stayed at both. The theming is much better for little ones at Movies. Of course I'm biased- we did not like POP. Our beds were terrible- had backaches every morning- didnt like the food court- 1,000 more people and our bus service was the worst we had. Bus service is luck of the draw and we had bad luck all week!! I was wishing we had chosen Movies.

Have the rooms at movies been refurbished?? Were going back and forth on the same two resorts as OP .

Hi
I've always loved Pop, but the new mattresses are so hard, my DD had terrible backaches. We had to change resorts. Never tried ASM, so I can't don't know about that resort. Pop is fun and the food court has a really good selection. Good luck with your decision.
