We will be in WDW for 10 days - January 21 through 31 - and I cannot decide where to stay for the first five days (the last five will be spent at Poly).

This parties for this vacation are me, DH, and our two daughters, 2 and 4 years old. We want to stay at an EPCOT resort this time and cannot decide on BWI or YC (we figure that the BC will be undergoing its renovation and figure we will avoid it for the YC the renovation of which will be complete).

We are leaning towards a BWI water view room for the following reasons: (1) it is late January, so it is unlikely we will be able to swim very much (if at all); (2) even if we can swim, our kids will not really be able to enjoy SAB since they cannot swim; (3) BWI is closer to both EPCOT and MGM since we will be walking to each on the days we visit; (4) from what I have read, the regular rooms at BWI are larger than at the YC; and (5) we would be on the Boardwalk.

I am wondering if you have any other thoughts as to benefits of either resort. Please help!

This is a tough one... but it sounds to me that you have enough to make up your mind with good reasoning... Me personally I would choose the YC just b/c I like the atmosphere a bit better but after reading your post I think you should stick with the BWI it sounds like it will suite you better... Have a GREAT trip, I wish you the best ever!!!

I would vote for the Yacht Club over BWI, although you probably won't go wrong either way. Two things to keep in mind though:

- a bunch of construction going on at BWI currently. Don't know how affected general traffic is in and out of the Inn.

- noise outside your room @ night from the Boardwalk, especially since you say you have 2 and 4 yo.

It is a closer walk to MGM, but I wouldn't necessarily say the YC is that much further from Epcot than the BWI. The room size we had at YC was not bad at all. If you were staying in a room with a King bed, those appear to be smaller than the two queen setup @ YC.

Either way, enjoy enjoy enjoy!!!

We stayed at YC in June '02 and I fell in LOVE!

But, you have made a great argument for BWI and I think you should stay there. You can stay at YC when your kids are older and can enjoy SAB.

Have a great trip!:D
