Can someone (preferably many people) give me their opinions on what building (and floor) to request at CSR?

We will have 3 children with us - a 16 yo, 7 yo, and toddler in a crib.

Thanks - we've never stayed at a moderate but this looks really nice with the free dining deal.

Everyone has a different favorite here, so I don't think you can go wrong. Given the ages of your children, you probably will want to be near the main pool or a quiet pool. We stayed in building 2 of the Casitas over Memorial Weekend. While a bit of a walk to the main pool (ample transportation via golf carts made this NOT be a problem), we were within view of a quiet pool. We were on the 1st floor, which is wonderful when you have stroller-aged children (We had our 4 and 2.5 yo's with us.). Our view of a long fountain was absolutely beautiful at night. I'm almost afraid to return to CSR because we enjoyed the resort, especially our room location, so very much. Enjoy!

I haven't stayed there yet, but when I posted this question, people responded that they liked all locations. I have requested a ground floor room in the Cabanas. i like the pics I've see of the Cabanas from allearsnet.com. Also I would love to come back from the parks and be able to lounge on a hammock. Another reason I chose the Cabanas instead of the Ranchos is because I don't want to be too close to the main pool. Hope this helps. :cheer2:

Depends what you are looking for

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site over the wooden bridge. Most preferred location.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. Some rooms within steps of the Dig Site.

Cabana 8b and 9a are inbetween the 2 above. cabana 9a has a quiet pool. cabana 9a also has smoking optional rooms so make sure you are clear as to what you will accept.

Cabana rooms are mostly waterview rooms or non parking lot views.

Rancho 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a. rancho 6b is also fairly close to the main pool area.

Casita 4 is close to the gym, spa and has quiet pool. THe casitas have great fountains and courtyards. casita 5 is close to the Dig Site with a good walk to the main building. The lower the casita number the closer towards the main building.

I haven't stayed there yet either but I think you would want to be by the Dig Site - either Cabanas 8 or the Ranchos building ? (right by the Dig) I would assume you would take afternoon breaks for your little one to nap and then the older kids can go to the pool/playground/arcade area at the Dig Site. There is even a bar there (for adults and snacks, sodas and such too for kids) I think you will spend more time there then the main building, even with the free dining plan. Also you are very close to bus stop 4.

We returned 365 days ago from 10 days at CSR. I got a real good deal and we got it for less than POP where we were booked before some AP rates came out. I was afraid of the size of CSR and stressed a lot. In the end I decided we wanted 8A. I called the 4 days before or what ever and asked for 8A ground. We got the 2 closest, connecting rooms to the Dig Site. It was a shorter walk than to my mail box. Next time we will probably get upstairs on the far end BUT for us it was great.

GO to http://coronado_springs.tripod.com/ and click on the first 8A listed. Our rooms were the 2nd and 3rd from the far left. The end room does not connect. You really can't "see" our rooms BUT the green plant life to the back/left is the pool area! We had 13,11,7 & 5 yr old DDs.

The walk to everything was fine. The bus waits were real good. ESPECIALLY returning to CSR. Nothing like the value resorts (our usual local).
Hope you have a great time! We did!

This is where I want to stay, exactly!! Can I ask why you wouldn't stay there again - was it too noisy or do you just want something else??

We stayed in 2 connecting rooms last year in Ranchos 7B on the second floor. It was a great location. We were close to the bus stop and the Dig Site. The quiet pool was right down the steps. It was a bit of a hike to the Main bldg. but you could take the bus there. As somebody else said, with stroller agers, you might want the first floor.

No, not that I don’t want to. The first time we stayed on property we stayed at ASMusic. I requested Calypso (sp). Back then (1996) they asked which theme you wanted when you made the ressies. We got there and had ground floor facing the main pool. It was fantastic. Over the next 4 trips I requested locations and NEVER got what I’d call close to what I’d asked for, UNTIL CSR. We were sooo spoiled. To leave the pool and run to the room took 30 seconds. I bought food at the pool snack bar a couple of times for the cost and choice. (Pepper Market was too dressy, and too $$$, and too crowded (at times) and too far). A meal for the 6 of us at PM was $50+ EASY and at the SB it was maybe $30. The food at PM was good BUT the servings were too big for us too. I hope to stay at CSR again and I’d LOVE the same rooms. We used AP rates and now I hear that those will be a thing of the past anyway. It was like $100 a night!! (JUNE 04). I have heard that there are deals at CSR more than CBR or POR because people tend to pick those first.???

We are doing the DCL cruise next April and probably go back to WDW in 07. That sounds so far into the future. My DH and I may go for 3 nights before our 20th Ann cruise in June 06. (No Kids :o) !!!) But it is really hard on our DDs. The cruise will be Disney BUT not WDW. We had our APs from July 03 – June 04 and spent 21 nights on property during that year. Our youngest was 3 most of that time. She doesn’t understand why we don’t go ALL THE TIME. To make it worse my DH is a middle school band director and he takes his 8th graders each year. He will have been about 3 times before we go as a family again.:o(
Have a Magical Day,

I think I'm going to try for Cabana 8A ground floor. My oldest loves to swim, so that would be perfect for her. I'm so excited that we are getting to go as this was not in our summer budget - but with the free dining, and driving, it's definitely doable with a lot of Ebaying.

This will be my youngest daughter's first time (she just turned 2) and originally we hadn't planned on going until she was 4. I'm beside myself getting ready to make priority dining reservations - I'm defintely like a little kid.

Thanks so much for all your positive views on this resort - I debated on where to stay and I definitely think I chose the right one.

We stayed CSR 2x last year. I have stayed at most of the WDW deluxe resorts, and I really think CSR is like a deluxe is moderate clothing!

We stayed Cabanas 8A.... we had corner room 8140.. loved it! close to pool, bus, etc. You cant go wrong... You will love this resort!

We stayed at CSR a couple weeks ago, also had Cabana 8A, room 8100, first floor, corner room...you could throw a rock to the right and hit bus stop #4 and the dig site was a few steps on the left. We were also right next to the ice machine and drinks. PERFECT LOCATION! Also, all of the standard view rooms in Cabana 8A do not face the parking lot! CSR ROCKS! HAVE FUN!
