We are going to WDW in January (me, dh, dd9, dn9) We know that we want to stay at a monorail hotel and we stayed at the GF in December, loved it, but wanted to try one of the other monorail hotels.

Looking for opinions and some pros and cons. Please help:banana:

We have stayed at the CR before, and will be staying at the Poly for our next trip. So my experience is only truly with the CR. My kids have loved the contemporary. They love seeing the monorail coming into the hotel. My kids loved the arcade, although it has changed lately. My DD fell in love with the slide at the pool on our first stay there. I think she would have been happy to send the entire week going down that slide. They enjoy the beach and the activities that have gone on by the pool. But they also want to stay at the Poly, so we will be there on our next trip.

We have stayed at the Contemporary and the Poly (never have stayed at GF--not our style). We definitely prefer the Poly over the Contemporary.

We stayed with our ds2 in jan at CR. Loved the location and monorail. Room was nice but heard Poly rooms are slightly bigger. Had to wait an hour for a pack n play that was supposed to already be in the room. Had rude hostess at Concourse Steakhouse (now closed I think). Actually enjoyed restaurants and theming at Poly more and are considering staying there next time.

I have stayed at both Resorts and I would choose the Contemporary. Besides it being on the Monorail line it's the 1st stop when leaving the Magic Kingdom, plus you also have the walkway which also goes there. Some other pros is that they are the 1st stop when being picked up and dropped off by the Disney Transport buses for from Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney. Their renovated rooms look amazing, they are the only Resort which has built in computers in everyone with free high internet access if you would need it and if you can afford it, the Tower Magic Kingdom View is amazing. So here is a link to the Contemporary FAQ thread where you can get a lot more information. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1710920

We too have stayed in both, and found the Poly to be more relaxing, and the CR more exciting... The CR had that hustle and bustle of a big hotel, and the Poly had more of a laid-back resort feeling. We truly enjoy both - just figure out what "mood" you're looking for!
