Hello, newbie here.
Hearing about babystar's connecting flights started to get me worried. I don't think I've got enough time. Only two of us and no children so we may be quicker

I booked a package from Walt Disney Travel Company for the end of August, (tickets, flights, accommodation etc..). And picked the most cheapest flight options for our dates, with both being connecting.
Firstly with AA from Heathrow to Miami International arriving at 14:25 with a connecting flight to Orlando at 16:20.
Then returning (still with AA) to Chicago O'Hare International at 17:30 and onto a connecting flight to Heathrow at 18:10.

Have I got enough time? What happens if I miss the flight? What should I do?

Hopefully I'm worrying about nothing, but I thought I should ask the nice DIS members.

Many Thanks!

EDIT: Also I realised I've posted this at quarter past midnight!

:welcome:

I think you should be fine on your arrival flight. You will have plenty of time between leaving Miami for Orlando. :thumbsup2 That being said, your return flight will be cutting it VERY close with only 40 minutes between your arrival and departure from Chicago. :hourglass
O'Hare is a really big airport so before you get off the plane, make sure you know exactly what gate you need to go to and don't waste time once you get off. Since you have no children it should be easier for you to get from one gate to the other in such a short amount of time. Years ago when my husband and I had a connecting flight from O'Hare to MCO we had 1 hr to get to our gate. We made it but it felt like we had to walk FOREVER!!! :rotfl2:

Have a fun and safe trip!!

Welcome.
I agree outbound should be no problem, if you are delayed there is probably a later flight they can transfer you to.
Returning 40 mins is a bit tight but with no immigration to do or collect luggage its just a matter of getting of one plane, rushing to your next and getting on.

40 minutes is a bit tight at Chicago because it's so big, although you may find - as we once did - that you come in at one gate and fly out from the one next door.

Also, in our experience, American are pretty good at knowing who they've got where, and where they need to be - if you see what I mean! One time arriving into Chicago we were convinced we'd missed our onward flight. But as we got off the aircraft someone was waiting for us, grabbed us and took us straight to our next flight, and the doors were closed behind us. As we sat down, DH looked out of the window and saw our bags being thrown on board so we even had our luggage, which we certainly didn't expect.

Another time with American when we checked in for our first flight they knew it was going to be late so they moved us onto the earlier one to give more connection time at Chicago. Unlike United (in our experience), American seemed pretty switched on about this kind of situation.

It could be worth looking to see what time there's an earlier flight to Chicago and if it's isn't too much earlier get to the airport in time for that one. If there are seats available, there's no reason for them not to put you on it.

Thankyou everyone.
I panicked when I saw terminal maps and threads about connecting flights.:rolleyes1
Outbound connection it appears to be we're in the same terminal, which should make things easier. Although will confirm this when the travel documents arrive.
Checking flights there looks to be one with available seats at 2:45, but we're using DME to get ourselves to the airport?
